GENTIS is a genetic testing company, was established on October 26, 2010 as a joint
stock company in the field of application of genetic analysis. This idea was inspired by
Assoc. Prof. Dr. - Excellent teacher Trinh Dinh Dat - Former Head of the Department of
Genetics; Vice Dean of the Department of Biology - University of Natural Sciences -
Vietnam National University, Hanoi on the establishment of a testing center to deploy
scientific achievements and applications in the field of genetics and molecular biology
in Vietnam. GENTIS has maintained its position as a market leader in Vietnam's genetic
testing industry by offering skilled assistance and earning the trust of devoted clients.
They do not only perform genetic analysis, but also carry out tests to find genetic
disorders during pregnancy.

Gentis is one of the first companies in Vietnam established with the role of researching
and applying genetic analysis. Promoting inherent strengths and constantly innovating,
accessing scientific and technical achievements in the field of genetic analysis of the
world, Gentis has been trading in the following main services:

in Vietnam to be certified with ISO 9001: 2015. Gentis has also been certified to
participate in the Asian Criminal Science Conference and is the first and only DNA test
in Vietnam to be certified with ISO 9001: 2015. Additionally, Gentis won several

The accounting department is the division of a company that is in charge of financial

statement preparation, general ledger management, bill payment, customer bill
preparation, payroll, and other duties. In other words, they are in charge of managing the
company's whole economic front.

2.3. Difficulties during the internship at GENTIS

Navigating the realm of genetic testing at GENTIS as an accounting intern was indeed a
unique journey, marked by a blend of challenges that stretched my abilities and
rewarding moments that shaped my professional character. While my role was primarily

centered around accounting tasks, the intricate nature of genetic analysis occasionally
posed difficulties. Grasping the scientific terminology and understanding the nuances of
genetic markers often presented a steep learning curve for someone with an accounting
background. Translating scientific findings into financial transactions required a careful
balancing act to ensure accurate documentation while maintaining the integrity of the
genetic testing process.

Furthermore, the ethical considerations in genetic testing added an additional layer of

complexity. I encountered situations where handling sensitive genetic data demanded an
elevated level of confidentiality and discretion. As an accounting intern, I had to swiftly
adapt to the intricacies of managing financial records tied to these genetic analyses, while
also respecting the privacy of individuals undergoing testing. This responsibility was a
testament to the gravity of the genetic testing field and deepened my understanding of
the broader impact of my work.

In retrospect, these challenges were invaluable learning opportunities. They cultivated

resilience within me, pushing me to delve into scientific concepts that were previously
unfamiliar. Collaborating closely with scientists and experts in the field allowed me to
bridge the gap between accounting and genetics, fostering interdisciplinary skills that
will undoubtedly prove valuable in my future endeavors.

As I reflect on my time at GENTIS, I am grateful for the chance to have faced these
challenges head-on. They have shaped me into a more adaptable, empathetic, and multi-
faceted professional. While my path is in accounting, my experience at GENTIS has
shown me the importance of embracing challenges beyond my comfort zone, as they not
only broaden my skill set but also deepen my appreciation for the diverse and ever-

AND FUTURE PLANS

After 5 weeks of internship as an Accounting Intern, I have the following assessments

During my enriching internship at GENTIS, a pioneering genetic testing company, I had

the remarkable opportunity to be part of their dynamic team and immerse myself in the
world of genetic analysis. GENTIS exhibited exceptional strengths that set it apart in the
field. The company's commitment to cutting-edge research and innovation was palpable
in every aspect of its operations. The genetic testing department, in particular, showcased
a remarkable strength in its comprehensive approach to interpreting genetic data. The
team's deep understanding of complex genetic markers and their implications
demonstrated a high level of expertise.

GENTIS's utilization of advanced technology and state-of-the-art equipment further

solidified its position at the forefront of genetic testing. Beyond technical prowess, the
company's commitment to ethical and responsible genetic analysis stood out
prominently. They prioritized clear communication of results, ensuring that individuals
understood the implications of their genetic data. My time at GENTIS not only exposed
me to the fascinating realm of genetic testing but also instilled in me an appreciation for
the meticulous processes and profound impact that accurate genetic analysis can have on
individuals and healthcare as a whole.

Overall, GENTIS is a fantastic and professional workplace. The corporation looks after,
cares for, and benefits all of its personnel. GENTIS has a lunch allowance in addition to
the internship allowance and is completely contracted. Furthermore, GENTIS's facilities

have been completely upgraded and modernized. When necessary, equipment is given.
Everyone has the freedom to share their ideas and make suggestions at GENTIS. The
departments' work at GENTIS is arranged smoothly and rationally. All duties are neatly
split, with critical activities being prioritized.

b. About accounting department at GENTIS

GENTIS' accounting department is a division. As a result, the accounting department is

likewise structured by firm. Mr. Do Van Lap, the CFO, will oversee all activities.

During my internship tenure at GENTIS, I had the privilege of working within the
esteemed Accounting Department, and the experience exceeded my expectations in
numerous ways. GENTIS showcased an exceptional commitment to fostering a
conducive learning environment, enabling interns like myself to immerse in practical,
hands-on tasks while receiving valuable guidance from seasoned professionals. The
Accounting Department's strength lies in its meticulous attention to detail and
unwavering dedication to precision. The team's adeptness at handling complex financial
data, coupled with their proficiency in utilizing cutting-edge accounting software,
showcased their ability to navigate challenges effortlessly. Moreover, GENTIS's
emphasis on cultivating a collaborative atmosphere allowed me to actively engage in
cross-functional projects, enhancing my holistic understanding of how the Accounting
Department seamlessly interfaces with other departments to drive the company's overall
success.

Everything has precise KPIs and a weekly work breakdown. Every week, the accounting
department meets on Monday morning to evaluate completed work and prepare for the
coming week. This keeps everything under control, everything is well-planned, and
everything has a deadline. To avoid overburdening, everyone is allocated clear,
unambiguous, and acceptable duties.

My time at GENTIS not only solidified my foundational accounting knowledge but also
instilled in me a profound appreciation for the pivotal role that an efficient and skilled
accounting team plays in an organization's prosperity.

3.2.2. Weakness

During my internship at GENTIS, the Accounting Department demonstrated its strengths

in many aspects. However, one area that could benefit from further attention is
communication within the team. There were instances where improved communication
between team members could have streamlined certain processes and avoided minor
misunderstandings. Nonetheless, the department's commitment to accuracy and
professionalism remained strong, and I believe that addressing this aspect could lead to
even greater efficiency and cohesion within the team.

3.2. Valuable experiences

During my internship at GENTIS, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the

fascinating world of genetic testing. The experience equipped me with invaluable
insights into various aspects of the genetic testing process. I gained a deep understanding
of genetic analysis techniques, including the interpretation of complex genetic markers
and their implications for individuals' health. Moreover, I learned to navigate advanced
genetic testing equipment and software, honing my technical skills. Beyond the
technicalities, I also developed a profound appreciation for the ethical considerations and
responsible communication required when conveying genetic testing results to
individuals. This internship not only solidified my interest in the field but also expanded

Besides, I also gained a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of financial

processes, and reconciliations, enhancing my proficiency in practical accounting tasks.
