Sequence
Process time (days) Start time Finish time Due date Lateness (days)
of jobs
A 5 6
B 3 5
C 6 8
D 2 7
E 1 3
2. The start time for job A is zero and the finish time is the same as for the process time
required. There are no delays therefore lateness is = zero
3. The start time for B is the same as the finish time of product A.
4. The finish time for product B is its process time plus its start time
5. Lateness is finish time minus due date time. In order to avoid negative values you
can use an IF condition that states IF (finish time minus due date time is lesser than
zero), therefore lateness is equal to zero otherwise equal to finish time minus due date
time.
6. Using the due date sequence. Copy and paste the previous table.
7. Highlight the whole table (new table) right click and select sort, custom sort then
select sort by due date in order from smallest to largest. “make sure you highlight even
the headings”.
11. All work must fit downward for printing purposes. Go to view and choose page
layout.
12. Add your initial(s), surname, and student number under the “Add Header” section
as shown below in the diagram.
13. Submit your tests strictly on your Moodle platform, no email submissions allowed.
