SYDNEY - YSSY GDP-A 2000-0000 Saturday 13 April 2024

ATFM-CDM Notes
METCDM Notes:
[1] 2000-0759: A ridge of high pressure extends across New South Wales, maintaining settled conditions over Sydney. Early fog inland is not expected to reach the airport and will have largely
dissipated by 2230Z. CAVOK at the airport, with some patchy cloud around 2500ft developing in the afternoon. Light WNW winds in the early morning will tend SE'ly from late morning, before
gradually turning E'ly by late afternoon as the ridge axis moves south of Sydney.
[2] 0800-1259: Winds in the evening are quite uncertain. With the high pushing into the Tasman Sea, the gradient flow may drag the winds around to a light NE'ly in the early evening, before
shifting to a WNW katabatic flow prior to curfew. In this scernario, a change to RWY 34 would be required around 08-09Z. Patchy cloud 2500-3000ft increases into the evening, lowering to around
2000-2500ft.

NCC DLM Notes:

SM Notes:
[1] 2000-0259: TCU staffing
[2] 0300-0459: AUSCAL flight testing
[3] 0500-1259: TWR staffing

GDP Notes
Reduced AAR throughout the day due to AUSCAL testing and staffing restrictions. Nil other significant network risks identified at this time.

Midday Update: BRIEF DETAIL YSSY: light S to SE winds. Patchy cloud 2500-3000ft, lowering in the evening.

MELBOURNE - Nil GDP Saturday 13 April 2024

ATFM-CDM Notes

METCDM Notes:
[1] 2000-2359: A high pressure ridge extends across Victoria, directing a S to SW gradient flow over the Melbourne TMA. Early fog about the nearby hills, with the airport to remain clear. Patchy cloud 2500-3000ft.
Light WNW winds should favour LAHSO prior to 23Z, although winds may vary WSW at times, particularly during the 23Z hour as winds transition towards the south.
[2] 0000-0759: Chance of light showers about the S and E TMA from late morning until mid-afternoon, although these are not expected to impact operations. Cloud 3000-5000ft. Winds varying SSW to SSE can be
expected during the afternoon, however winds should remain light enough to maintain RWY 16/27 operations.
[3] 0800-1359: Cloud 3000-4000ft, becoming patchy. The wind forecast is a little uncertain in the evening, as winds become light under a weakening gradient. There is a chance that winds may turn SW'ly, allowing
for a continuation on RWY 16/27, ahead of the redevelopment of the WNW katabatic flow in the late evening.

METCDM Notes:
[1] 2000-1259: A high pressure ridge extends into the Tasman Sea, maintaining a weak onshore flow over Brisbane. Showers, offshore at first, move ashore from late morning. Showers may
produce brief visibility and cloud base reductions until mid-afternoon (small x-factor applied). Light SSW winds shift SE from late morning, gradually turning NE during the afternoon as the gradient
flow tilts towards NE.
