2. Martians have two alleles for antenna color. Purple antenna is dominant to orange antenna. A male
Martian that is heterozygous for his antenna color mates with a female who is also heterozygous. They
produce 1000 screaming offspring. List the genotypes of the parents. List the genotypes of the offspring
and the approximate number of each genotypes they could have. List the phenotypes and the number of
offspring who would possibly have that phenotype.

3. SpongeBob SquarePants recently met SpongeSusie RoundPants at a dance. Square body is dominant to
round body. Assume they get married and have children. SpongeBob is heterozygous for his shape.
SpongeSusie has a round body. What will be the genotypes and phenotypes for their children?

4. A gardener has crossed a white flower with a red flower. You assume that R = red and r = white flowers.
After several months the gardener comes back to you and states that he is very upset. Instead of getting
white or red flowers, he got all pink flowers. Since you have knowledge of genetics, he pleads with you
to solve the problem. What is happening here? Where did the pink flowers come from? Use a punnett
square to explain.

5. Snapdragon flowers exhibit incomplete dominance. Cross a pink flower and a pink flower. What do the
offspring look like? What are the genotypic and phenotypic ratios of the offspring?

6. In some birds black feathers are incompletely dominant over white feathers. A bird with an allele for
black feathers and an allele for white feathers will be gray in color. What would be the phenotypic ratio
among the offspring of a gray female mated with a :
a. Black male? B. Gray male? C. White male?

7. SpongeBob loves growing flowers for his pal Sandy. Her favorite flowers, Poofkins, are found in red,
blue and purple. Blue is incompletely dominant to red, which will produce purple flowers. When red and
blue are crossed purple flowers are produced. List the genotypes and phenotypes for the Poofkins
created between the cross of a red Poofkin and a purple Poofkin.

8. SpongeSusie RoundPants is jealous that SpongeBob is growing flowers for Sandy. She wants lots of
purple flowers in her sea garden. What will the genotypes of the parent flowers have to be in order for
SpongeBob SquarePants to produce only purple flowers. Prove your results through a Punnett Square.
