ANALYZE: A High School Resume and Cover Letter

Before writing your own resume and cover letter, it’s important to look at some real life examples and discover what
elements all great resumes and cover letters have.

Part I: Resume Analysis


1. Review the Student Resume Checklist to review what to look for in a resume.

2. Your teacher will assign you one of four resumes to review. Go through the checklist and identify which elements
this resume contains. Then, briefly summarize your critique in the box below with some “Glows” (things the
resume did well) and “Grows” (things this job seeker needs to improve on).
