Ans- Most of this is in the seas and oceans, but some is found in lakes.

Ans- A river empties itself into a sea or an ocean.

3. How are waves formed?


A. The wind pushes the water in the oceans and seas, making it move. This movement makes
waves in the water, which look like a line of moving water.

4. What are the different types of rivers? Explain using examples.


A. There are two types of rivers-snow-fed rivers and rain-fed rivers.
B. Snow-fed rivers are formed due to the melting of snow or glaciers. The Ganga is a snow-fed river.
Rain-fed rivers are formed due to rainfall. Tapi and Narmada are rain-fed rivers.

5. What is an inlet?
A. An inlet is a narrow strip of water that stretches into the land from the sea or a lake or between
islands.

6. Glaciers of the world are melting much faster. Explain.


A. Glaciers of the world are melting much faster than they did in the past. This is due to global warming
which is caused by pollution.
