Once long ago, the birds had a meeting.
They wanted a king, just like people and
animals. Which bird should be king?

"The Eagle, he is strong and kingly!" said
one. "No, he has no crown, and when he
calls, he sounds too sad," said another.
"Then Ostrich, because he is the largest
and roars like a lion," one called out. "No,
he can't fly. The king of the birds must be

Pada zaman dahulu, para burung
mengadakan sebuah pertemuan.
Mereka ingin menobatkan seorang
raja, seperti halnya manusia dan
binatang lainnya. Siapakah yang
seharusnya menjadi sang raja?
“Elang, karena ia perkasa dan
berwibawa!” kata seekor burung.
“Tidak, ia tidak memiliki mahkota,
dan kicauannya terdengar terlalu
lemah,” saut burung lain. “Bagaimana
jika Burung Unta, ia besar dan lantang
seperti Singa, sang raja hutan,” burung
lain ikut menyaut. “Burung Unta tidak

malam hari. Di siang hari, ia tidur,
bersembunyi dari pandangan burung-
burung lain.

to the conventions of Bahasa
Indonesia. The use of figurative
language, such as the metaphor
"terbuai mimpi indah" (lured into
a sweet dream), is retained to

In this part, the translator used the
addition strategy. ‘little bird
escape’ in ST when translated into
TT should be just ‘burung kecil’.
But the translator added more
words to make the sentence more
natural.
