I was totally moved and motivated to teach because of Delfin Villafuerte’s inspirational talk
through TEDx Talks entitled ‘Finding f(x): Why I teach for the Philippines’. I am currently taking
Diploma in Professional Education (DPE) in Cebu Technological University (CTU) and I feel so
very empty and hopeless to teach children however his talk made me think that I need to try, to
change, to be better and to share hope among my future students. I have learned that we need
to enjoy every minute of our life – Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside ourselves to
make us happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time we have to spend, whether
it's at work or with our family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored. A good teacher can
inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.
Learning lessons is a little like reaching maturity. You're not suddenly more happy, wealthy, or
powerful, but you understand the world around you better, and you're at peace with yourself.
Learning life's lessons is not about making your life perfect, but about seeing life as it was meant
to be. In addition, learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think
that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow. We all have different things that we
go through in our everyday life and it's really important to know that just at the end of the day,
it doesn't matter what you face – you're going to win at the end of the day. If you believe in
yourself and have dedication, pride and never quits, you'll be a winner. Always remember that
the price of victory is high but so are the rewards.
