STUDY 1 EPISODE Classroom Management

and Routines
FS 2 Observation
1

This episode focuses on the classroom structure and routines performed by teachers in class to provide a
safe, friendly non-threatening and caring environment. Effective classroom routines ensure order and discipline
to help the students to stay calm and focused in their daily tasks.

At the end of this Episode, I must be able to:

 Identify the classroom routines set by the teacher; and

 Observe hoe the students execute the various classroom routines.

Routines are the backbone of daily classroom life. They facilitate teaching and learning. Routines don’t
just make the life of the teacher easier. They save valuable classroom time. Efficient routines make it easier for
students to learn and achieve more.
Establishing routines early in the school year:
 enables you to run your daily activities run smoothly;
 ensures you to manage time effectively;
 helps you maintain order in the classroom;
 makes you more focused in teaching because you spend less time in giving
directions/instructions; and
 enables you to explain to the learners what are expected of them.

should respect especially we asking guidance and protection to our Lord
Jesus, next is before to start the lesson, because it teaches the child what
he or she CAN do rather than harshly criticizing or punishing for what he

essential. Every teachers wants to keep his/her students safe and teach
them what is and is not an appropriate behaviors in class. Classroom
rules are set to teach student a proper and safe way to act within the
classroom and thus, improving the student learning. Every minute in
school is important.

Reflect on the various routines and rules observed.

1. Which of the routines will you most likely apply in your class? Why? Why not?
 The classroom routine that I really want to apply in the future is of
course first and for most the opening prayer, because it is good to
start the class by the guidance of our Lord Jesus for the whole
session, and next is the Checking of Attendance, because it is really
important for me to know if I have a student who are not attending
to the class and to help them to keep up with the lesson. Also by
checking the month, day, year and weather for today, and asking
my students “how’s your day?”” Did you eat your Breakfast or lunch
?” I’d like also to apply the reminding of our classroom rules to know
what are the things that they should and shouldn’t do during our
session, and asking about the previous lesson for me to know if they
really understand our previous lesson and also to know if I need to
repeat it again. And this is the most likely, the Motivational activities
before we begin our discussion, because this is one that the student
want they develop their confidence and lively.

2. Reflect on the various classroom rules set by the resource teacher. Will you have the same rules? If
not, what rules are you going to employ? Explain your answer.
 The various classrooms rules set by the resource teacher during our
observation, since we are not doing face to face learning and only
online class observation are being implemented, the resource
teacher want to his students is to open their camera and unmute
their desktop, so their teachers will see and hear them while they
are discussing. They always reminding their students to sit properly
even if they are just at home, and take care of their things specially
their gadgets and other school materials. Teacher eco, teacher Bea

and teacher carol always saying to their students you have to show
love to the teacher and your classmate by listening and watching on
them, pay attention and be good. Time is important so if the
students are not yet joining in the meeting they call the parents or
guidance of the students so they know if the students will attend in
session and if the students are late and not cooperating on the class
they remind the students to be respectful in the time of others. We
have the same classroom rules by this rules students will know and
aware on things that they will do and shouldn’t do, they practice to
be organize, respectful and show love to others.

Take some snapshots of the classroom routines employed by the Resource Teacher which are worth
emulating.
