1. (a) Write the scope of Operations Research. [4 marks]

(b) What is modeling in Operations Research? Discuss the various types of

models used in operations Research. [6 marks]

2. (a) A factory uses three different resources in the production of its two
products A and B, whose total availability is 20. 12 and 16 units respectively. In the
production of one unit of A, it requires 2, 2 and 4 units of resources
respectively while for B , the respective requirement are 4, 2 and 0 units. Given that
the profit is Rs. 200 on one unit of A and Rs 300/- on one unit of B. Formulate the
L.P.P. and solve it graphically. [5 marks]

(b) Find solution using graphical method? (3)
