INTRODUCTION:
My group members and I have observed that students go to the fence to buy juice, this we
believe is due to the fact that the canteen does not have what they want. The purpose of this
School Based Assessment is to find out the beverage that students prefer so that we can advise
the canteen staff of what to stock up on to lessen their monetary loss faced. Sought the need to
find out the most favorable juice preference of Morant Bay High school students so by doing an
investigation into our topic we will one: collect data of the student’s drink preferences during
lunch time, two analyze and tally the responses acquired and lastly record findings of the results
drawn by the investigation.

DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS

Our project indicated that many of Morant Bay High students. Our research indicates that

majority of the respondents were females who were in there teens from forms 1-6 with dominant

responses from fifth form students. We asked our students what they drink with their food during

lunch time of our school with majority stating fruit juice provided at the canteen having the most

votes. The students believe in healthy drinking, long life yet they still buy sodas and other

carbonated drinks, even one in there school life. Beverage choices plays a vital role in student

life behavior and overall attitude towards schools; as carbonated drinks leave students hyper

active along with giving them a boost of energy and endangering their health life, as this energy

overwhelms the body and teachers of the school. As contrast to natural/fruit juice that hydrates

and aids focus in class due to the well elevated amounts of natural sweets from true juices.

According to the responses the canteen does not get enough monetary funds from students due to

the limited choices of juices provided by the canteens. In evaluations the canteen needs more

ranges of beverages choices of the students preference to improve monetary standing and profit

gains. The solution to this is to provide a survey to students of the school and aid to some of their

want or even enforce buying healthy drinks at the canteen for students.
