1. According to Proverbs 6:16- 19, what are seven things


that are detestable in God’s eyes?
● Haughty eyes
● Lying tongue
● Hands that shed innocent blood
● A heart that plans wicked schemes
● Feet that are quick to rush into evil
● A false witness who pours out lies
● A man who stirs up conflict among brothers

2. When you want something and cannot have it, how does
God want you to respond?
God wants you to rejoice and give thanks for what the Lord
has already given you.

3. What did Ahab complain about?


He told his wife that Naboth would not sell his vineyard.

4. What was Jezebel’s wicked plan?


She sent letters to the elders in Naboth’s city saying that
Naboth had cursed God and the king and that he should be
stoned to death.

5. What was wrong with what Ahab and Jezebel did to


Naboth?

Ahab and Jezebel had great wealth. They did not need
more; however, because of their evil hearts, they let their sin
of covetousness build until more sin developed.

6. What phrase did Satan say boastfully five times and


what phrase did he say that shows his overall attitude
toward God?
The devil said “I will” five times. He also said, “I will make
myself like the Most High.”

7. What was Lucifer like before he fell from heaven?


Lucifer was the model of perfection. He was full of wisdom
and perfect in beauty.

8. What caused Lucifer to fall?


Lucifer fell because his heart became proud on account of
his beauty, and he corrupted
his wisdom because of his splendor.

9. What did God do because of Lucifer’s sin?


God drove him in disgrace from the mount of God and
expelled him.

10. List what Satan does or wants to do to us.


● He has blinded the minds of unbelievers.
● He has his servants masquerade as servants of
righteousness

11. According to 1 Peter 5:8, what is Satan’s purpose for


us and what does this verse mean?
Satan wants to devour us, meaning he wants to overpower
us and take full control of our lives.

12. In what three areas does the devil tempt us?


1. The lust of human desires (the flesh)
2. The lust of the eyes
3. The pride of life (who one is and what one has done)

13. What question did Satan ask in order to tempt Eve?


Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the
garden?”

14. What did Eve say that God had said?


We may eat of all trees but one, and if we eat of that one or
even touch it, we will die.

15. In Luke 22:31 what did Christ say about Satan and
what did he mean?
Satan asked to have Peter and the other disciples so he
could sift them as wheat. He meant he wanted to shake
Peter’s and the other disciples' faith in Christ.

16. What is Christ’s prayer for each of us?


Christ’s prayer is that our faith might not fail.

17. What must we never do for the devil?


Give him a foothold, or an opportunity to work in our lives.

18. What must we do to defeat the devil?


God promises if we resist the devil he will flee from us.

19. How did Satan tempt Jesus and what was Jesus’
response?
● Tell stones to become bread: Man does not live on
bread alone
● Worship me, and the world’s kingdoms will be Yours:
Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.
● Throw yourself down from the highest point of the
temple: Do not put the Lord your God to the test.

20. What is God’s promise to you when you are tempted?


He will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I can bear
and will always provide a way out

21. What is the armor of God?


- The belt of truth- knowing the truth helps you not be
deceived

- The breastplate of righteousness- If we do not protect


ourselves with righteousness, we open ourselves up to
attack from the enemy and can fall into sin.
- Boots of peace- to be able to spread the gospel to
others
- The shield of faith - Our faith can guard us during trials
in the same way a shield would during battle.
- The helmet of salvation - we can avoid sinful thoughts
and understand what is good and true.
- The sword of the spirit - we are able to arm ourselves
with the word of God to distinguish between right and
wrong

22. At what price were we bought?


Christ died on the cross and shed His blood to pay the price
for our sins.

23. As a Christian, why should your life be glorifying


God?
My life should be glorifying God because everything I am
and that I have has been given to me by God.

24. What are the four types of miracles that Christ


performed while He was on this Earth?
- Power over death: He raised the dead
- Power over demons: He cast out demons or evil spirits.

- Power over disease: He healed the sick.


- Power over nature: He shows His power over the seas,
the wind, food, fish, etc.

25. What is significant about the city of Nazareth?


Christ lived in Nazareth from the days of His childhood until
He began His ministry.

26. Define Beatitude.


A statement concerning perfect blessedness or happiness.

27. What supernatural events took place at the time of


Christ’s death?
● There was darkness during the day
● Curtain of the temple tore in two from top to bottom
● Earthquakes
● Rocks split
● Tombs opened
● The appearance of many holy people who had died

28. Before Christ’s ascension to Heaven what did he and


the two angels promise the apostles?
● They would receive power
● The Holy Spirit will come on them

Him?
He asked God to forgive them because they did not realize
what they were doing.

Satan masquerades as an angel of light.

brought to your mind?
We are dragged away and enticed by our own evil desires.

33. Define Pharisee.


A member of the Jewish religion known for strict adherence
to the rites and ceremonies of traditional Jewish law.

34. What miracle did Jesus perform in Bethsaida and


what apostles lived there?
Bethsaida was the hometown of Philip, Peter, and Andrew. It
was also where Jesus fed the five thousand.

35. What was the promise God made to His people


through the prophet Jeremiah?

He would restore Israel and Judah to the land He gave their


forefathers to possess.

36. Define Blaspheming.


To express lack of reverence for God.

37. Define Fast.


Abstaining from food for a period of time to seek the Lord,
often to seek wisdom or as a sign of repentance.

38. Define Covetousness.


Jealousy desiring what belongs to someone else.

39. Why does God refer to our bodies as a “temple”?


God refers to our bodies as a temple because the Holy
Spirit actually lives inside of us.

40. How does God want us to respond to the evil world


around us?
He wants us to come out from it and be separate - set apart
for Him.

41. What does the Holy Spirit want to test and approve
through your life?
The Holy Spirit wants to test and approve what God’s good,
pleasing, and perfect will is.

42. What did the sacrifice of a lamb symbolize?


The shedding of the blood of an innocent lamb gave a
picture of what Christ would one day do for us.

43. What did God ask the Israelites to do before he sent


the 10th plague to Egypt.
They were to kill a lamb, collect the blood in a basin, and
then use hyssop to smear the blood on the top and sides of
the door to their homes. They were not to leave their homes
until morning because during the night God would “pass
over” the home with the blood on the doors and not harm
anyone in that house.

44. How does the Bible refer to Jesus as a lamb?


● He is the Lamb of God
● He is the Passover lamb sacrificed for us
● His blood was like that of a lamb without blemish or
spot
● He is the Lamb who was slain

The purpose of His miracles was so that we may believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing,
we may have life in His name.

47. How does Jesus want us to learn from His life?


Christ wants us to look at His life to help us learn how to
respond to life situations for ourselves.

48. How did Christ respond to His disciples?


He had a close relationship with them, told them things He
told no one else, and comforted them when they were afraid.

49. How did Christ respond to those who refused to


believe in Him?
He did not do many miracles in front of them because of
their lack of faith.

50. How did Christ respond to God?


He always wanted to please God rather than Himself.
