third novel. Here a group of eight students have
created a portfolio on what they have learnt and
how creating this portfolio helped them to
understand better, in this booklet you will find out
about nutritional benefits from fruits in the book
as well as illustrations. Research has taken place
via GOOGLE/CHROME and we sincerely
appreciate the reliable information. The group has
made many efforts to get it to perfection.

NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS
Cinnamon
1. Anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal
Cinnamon is thought to have many medicinal and soothing properties, and is used frequently
in Chinese herbal medicine.
Some spices, including cinnamon, have prebiotic properties. These bacteria may help restore
the balance of bacteria in your gut
7
3.Lowers blood sugar and risk of type-2 diabetes - Cinnamon has a reputation for helping
manage blood sugar. It appears to do this by a number of different mechanisms.
Cure for Hypertension: Hibiscus tea has often been recommended as a cure for hypertension or high blood
pressure, and this is one claim that has been validated by not one, but several studies. In some studies, it was
clearly shown that the daily intake of hibiscus tea had a similar effect to medications for hypertension. One
of these studies revealed that there was a marked improvement in hypertensive patients who were
administered hibiscus tea as opposed to among those given a placebo. The hibiscus is a member of the
mallow family which has nearly 300 species including trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals. They are native
to warmer, tropical regions. In our northern climate, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the species most commonly
available through nurseries, garden centers and florists. Hibiscus are bred specifically for flower size and
color. The beautiful, exotic-looking flowers are short-lived, typically blooming for only one day. Once
finished blooming, the flower will close up and drop off. There is also a shell-like structure supporting the
flower. This too withers and drops a few days after the flower fades. Hibiscus make great house plants and
are also wonderful additions to a summer garden. They are not winter hardy, and therefore must be brought
8
in before the first fall frost. Hibiscus are easy plants to grow and should pose few problems if their needs are
met.

⊙Summary⊙
We conclude that producing this portfolio improved
our understanding of the novel. By creating this
portfolio, we used the description of Mr. Gidharee's
dogs that was in the book, and used it to create
illustrations that gave us a better understanding of
imagery and figurative language used in the book.
Our portfolio reflected what we learned and showed
us how to evaluate, and separate important
information.
