B. Test

(1) Do the operational test of the AFS AMM 229600710001 and read the result for the FMGC 1.

(a) If the circuit breaker (10CA1) is closed and if the test confirms the maintenance message, go
to Para. 4.A.

(b) If the circuit breaker (10CA1) is open, go to Para. 4.B.

(c) If the test does not give a maintenance message and if it is necessary to find the cause, go to
Para. 4.C.

A. If the circuit breaker (10CA1) is closed and if the test confirms the maintenance message:
• remove the FMGC-1 1CA1 AMM 228334000001
• do a check and repair the wiring of the 28VDC and 28VDC GND signals at the FMGC1 connector
ASM 228401

(1) If the check is correct:

• replace the FMGC-1 1CA1 and AMM 228334400001.

B. If the circuit breaker (10CA1) is open:

• close this circuit breaker.

(1) If the circuit breaker (10CA1) trips:

• replace the FMGC-1 1CA1 AMM 228334000001 and AMM 228334400001.

(a) If the fault continues:

• do a check for a short to ground between the circuit breaker (10CA1) and the
FMGC 1 (1CA1) ASM 228401
• do a check for a short to ground between the circuit breaker (10CA1) and the
A/THR 1 relays (5CA1), (17CA1) and (18CA1) ASM 223101.

1 If there is a short to ground:

• repair the above wirings.

2 If there is no short to ground:

• replace the C/B-AUTO FLT/FMGC/1 10CA1 .

C. If the test does not give a maintenance message and if it is necessary to find the cause:

(1) If the PFR fault message is recorded during flight phase 4 or 9:

(a) No maintenance action is necessary.

(2) If the PFR fault message is not recorded during flight phase 4 or 9:

(a) Get access to the AFS/TROUBLE SHOOTING BITE SELECTION page.

(b) Push the related line select key to do a check of the result for FM1, FM2 and FG1 (COM & MON)
system parts.

(c) If there is no TSD with the same date/time as the PFR message:

1 No maintenance action is necessary.

(d) If there is one TSD with the same date/time as the PFR message:

1 For FG TSD:

a Print the related TSD for FG1 (COM & MON) system parts and send it to Airbus
for subsequent analysis.

b No maintenance action is necessary.

2 For FM TSD:

a Print the related TSD for FM1 and FM2 system parts and send it to Airbus for
subsequent analysis.

b Download FM1 and FM2 BITE data AMM 227000610006.

c No maintenance action is necessary.

(3) If the fault continues:

(a) On the MCDU:

1 Get access to the AFS MAIN MENU page.

2 On the AFS MAIN MENU PAGE push the line key adjacent to the TROUBLE SHOOTING
DATA indication.

3 On the AFS/TROUBLE SHOOTING/BITE SELECTION page, push the line key adjacent to
FM1 and/or FM2.

4 On the AFS/TROUBLE SHOOTING page, do the check as follows:

a If the digits of the first or third word along the line of line key 5L are 0315
(fault of FM battery 1) or 0317 (fault of FM battery 2):
• Replace the related FMGC in less than one month (from the first
time the fault message came into view) and send it to the shop to
replace the two batteries of FMGC-1 1CA1 and/or FMGC-2 1CA2
AMM 228334000001 and AMM 228334400001.

b If the digits of the first or third word along the line of line key 5L are 0319
(fault of FM battery 1 and 2):
• Replace the related FMGC at the next maintenance check and
send it to the shop to replace the two batteries of FMGC-2 1CA2
and/or FMGC-1 1CA1 AMM 228334000001 and AMM
228334400001.
