a. Opening Prayer

Everybody, please stand and let us

pray.

Student A, kindly lead the prayer. Praise be thy name of our Lord Jesus
Christ…

Now, let’s have a short recap

about our discussion yesterday.
Who can give me the gist of our
discussion yesterday?

The words that we have guessed are

the phrases right. Congratulations!

h. Presentation of the Objectives

These are the objectives of the

lesson. Kindly read, Student E.

Thank you, Student E.

1. Activity
The video is about a valedictory speech of

that I will ask based from the video that
you have watched.

There is, Ma’am. Both graduates started their

speeches with the sentence "Lang, the short
term for the Filipino word 'lamang' also, the
theme of the boys' speech is identical to that
of the girls' speech.
2. Analysis

1. What is the video all about?

The violation that the boy has committed is
Yes, Student F? plagiarism, Ma’am.

Because clearly the boy copied the girls’

speech and plagiarism is an act of using
someone else's work, ideas, or words without
giving them credit.
2. Is there something wrong in the
video? If there is why? Student G?

3. What violation is committed by the

boy in the video? Yes, Ma’am.

Yes, student H? It does, Ma’am. Plagiarism can certainly

occur in research. If the researcher copies
else's research ideas without quotation
Why do you think so? marks or proper citation.

Impressive, student H!

In the academic community, It is a

violation of ethics, a form of theft and a
breach of honesty.

Understand, class?

Do you think plagiarism also happens in

doing research? How?

(a) Fabrication - making up data or results

and recording or reporting them.
Precisely! It seems like you have a little
idea of the research misconduct. With Ma’am, it is like inventing or falsifying data or
that, we will dig more of it by going results and then recording or reporting them
through with our discussion. But before as if it’s true.
that, let us first discuss the Research
Process.

3. Abstraction

We have here the three 3 research

misconduct. (b) Falsification - manipulating research
materials, or changing or omitting data or
results such that the research is not

misconduct? accurately represented in the research
record.
Yes, student I?
Changing data results to make them appear
more significant and to achieve
predetermined results, Ma’am.

Precisely, student I.

Creating false information to accomplish

your study will make unreliable and not
factual. You should conduct your work
with honesty and integrity.

Next, student J. (c) Plagiarism - the appropriation of another

person's ideas, processes, results, or words
without giving appropriate credit.

Ma’am, it an act of copying someone else’s

study without proper credits.

Thank you, student J.

Researchers should accurately

represent their research findings and
report all data and results transparently
and truthfully, without manipulation or
distortion.

Last misconduct. Yes, student K.

Exactly, student Q.

Remember that research misconduct

does not include honest error or
differences of opinion.

Understand, class?

4. Application
At this moment, we will be having a
group activity named “Correct Me if I’m
Wrong”
Group 1. PLAGIRISM. Sara, is tasked with
writing an essay on climate change for her
I will divide the class into 3 groups, each science class. She finds an article online
will be given a misconduct scenario and that perfectly summarizes the topic and
through a role play you will determine decides to copy large sections of it into her
appropriate action to address it. essay without citing the source. Sara
submits the essay as her own work.

But before that let me present to you the Group 2. FALSIFICATION. John, a STEM
student, is conducting a biology experiment
criteria in grading your role play.
to investigate the effects of different
temperatures on the growth rate of yeast.
After a few weeks of experimentation, John
finds that the results are not aligning with
his hypothesis. Instead of accurately
recording the data, John decides to alter
some of the measurements to make it
appear as though the yeast growth rates
support his original hypothesis.

Group 3. FABRICATION. A group of

STEM student, is conducting a chemistry
experiment to investigate the effectiveness
of a homemade cleaning solution. After
several trials, Sophia finds that the solution
doesn't produce the desired results.
Instead of reporting the actual outcomes,
Sophia decides to fabricate data, claiming
that the solution effectively removes stains
and disinfects surfaces.

Today, I learned the the research

misconducts which are the fabrication,
falsification, and plagiarism.

Ma’am, having knowledge about the

research misconducts is essential for
Congratulations class for a marvelous fostering responsible conduct, ensuring the
performance. This attests how deep quality and credibility of research, and
your learning is. upholding the values of integrity and
trustworthiness in the scientific community.
i. generalization
Alright! Let’s synthesize our lesson.

What did you learn for today’s

discussion? Student R.

Why is it important that we have

knowledge about these? Yes, student
S?

Excellent! I’m glad to know that you

learned something today.

III. EVALUATION

Direction: check (√) if the statement is true and (X) if the statement is true.

1. Plagiarism involves using someone else's work without proper attribution.

2. Fabrication is the act of manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes to
change or omit data.
3. Falsification is the act of making up data or results.
4. It is acceptable to copy paragraphs from a website for a research paper without citing
the source.
5. Selectively reporting data to support a hypothesis, while ignoring contradictory
results, is considered research misconduct.
6. Altering measurements or data to fit a desired outcome is an example of fabrication.
7. Ethical violations, such as breaching standards involving human subjects, animals, or
the environment, are not considered research misconduct.
8. Providing proper citation for all sources used in a research paper helps to prevent
plagiarism.
9. Fabrication involves acknowledging the sources of information used in a research
paper.
10. Research misconduct can have serious consequences, including damage to one's
reputation and legal consequences.

V. Assignment
1. Research about research misconduct awareness.
2. Have an advance study about the difference of qualitative and quantitative research.
