Year 10 Physics

Semester 2 Scheme of Work 2023-24

Introduction to the course
International IGCSE Physics 0625 cover the general themes of Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Waves and Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, Nuclear Physics and Space Physics. The Space Physics
is new to the syllabus, and this will be the second year of testing. This qualification is tested in the 3 components; paper 2 (extended MCQ), paper 4 (extended structured questions) and P6 (ATP)

Key resources
The main reference resource is the syllabus document for 0625 Physics from CAIE. Any textbook must be read together with this document to be able to achieve the minimum expectations in this
syllabus. There are other recommended textbooks, and all these are available in the class teams. There are also websites with simulations of various experiments or illustrations of concepts. All
students are also expected to complete P2/P4/P6 every week in preparation for the final examination in May/June 2024

Extension resources
Learners are expected to be able to make reference to topics in Physics 9702 and relates concepts in the following topics: General Mechanics, Waves and Nuclear Physics

Assessment & Homework

E.g. Throughout the year, assessments will be a mix of quizzes, assignments, presentations, and end-of-unit tests. Every week, specific homework will be assigned, as detailed in the weekly
breakdown below. The homework is designed not just as a revision of what we cover in class, but also as a precursor to what we will explore in the subsequent week, ensuring that you're always
prepared and ahead in your learning journey.
***NOTE - Assessment data will be input into Engage/ManageBac on a weekly/monthly basis before the last Wednesday of every month.

[2023-24 / AS & A Level DRAMA 9482]
Scheme of Work 2023-24
Introduction to the course
Welcome to "Drama and Theatre Studies," aligned with the Cambridge Drama (9482) syllabus. This year, we'll explore the intricacies of the theatrical world, learning about everything from
scriptwriting to stage management, and performance. Whether you're a returning student or new to the discipline, this course will enhance your understanding of dramatic arts, as well as provide
practical skills in acting, directing, and design. Get ready to engage both critically and creatively with works that have shaped and continue to influence the theatrical landscape. For those returning
students, expect to dive deeper into the practical elements of drama, incorporating technology in stagecraft, and broadening our study of global theatre traditions. This course is designed not only
to cultivate your appreciation for drama but also to develop your skills in performance, critical thinking, and creativity.

Key resources
Throughout our journey this year, our main resource will be "The Essential Theatre by Oscar G. Brockett and Robert J. Ball." We will refer to this text for various aspects of drama theory and
practice. Supplemental materials, including play scripts and scholarly articles, will be available on our online resource portal. For quick references and terminologies, the "Cambridge’s School
Support Hub" is an invaluable resource that can be accessed through the provided link.

Extension resources
For the high achievers looking to extend their learning, I recommend "The Cambridge Introduction to Theatre Directing" by Christopher Innes and Maria Shevtsova, which will provide a more
nuanced understanding of the directorial process. Moreover, websites such as FutureLearn and Coursera offer courses in advanced drama techniques and theatre history which can complement our
syllabus well. These resources are excellent for in-depth exploration and broader cultural understanding.

Assessment Data
Assessment will take the form of practical demonstrations, written assignments, peer reviews, and end-of-unit evaluations. Regular homework assignments will reinforce classwork and encourage
independent study. Examples include script analysis, performance practice, and research projects on different theatre styles. Feedback will be constructive, focusing on continuous improvement
and deepening your understanding and appreciation of drama.
Remember to keep track of performance dates and to utilise the available resources to their fullest. Let's set the stage for a successful and engaging year in drama!
