1. Business Name

The business will be named Himig Hango sa Kawayan, which is derived from the

tagalog word “Himig” (in English, melody, or tune) which refers to the principal part

in harmonized music. Therefore, Himig Hango sa Kawayan translate to “Melody from

the Bamboo.”

The proponents came up with this business name because the main product is

namely from bamboo. It also embodies the beauty of craftsmanship, cultural relevance,

and environmental stewardship.

business that skillfully incorporates its business name, as the central design element to

They are made in a rigorous process that exemplifies workmanship and

2. Features and Specifications

Features

As we wanted a natural appearance and a mellow tone, we used a great material,

which is bamboo. Our wind chimes comprise a set of bamboo tubes that create pleasant

sounds when they hit each other. When the bamboo tubes collide with one another, and

the wind blows. The vibrations created by the collisions travel the length of the bamboo

tubes, producing sound waves at different pitches.

Himig Hango sa Kawayan production system consists of primary inputs,

intermediate inputs, intermediate outputs, and final outputs. The bamboo chimes

required primary inputs or resources, including capital, lands, labor, materials, and

supplies, to be constructed and completed. Bamboo, string, drill bits, saws, glue, and

varnish are the intermediate inputs for bamboo chimes. In addition, creating movement

and sound when the wind blows through them, and being associated with religious

beliefs, meditation, and creating a serene environment are the intermediate outputs.

2.1 Target Market

• Primary Target Market

Based on the survey, the primary target of our product, Bamboo wind chimes are

the 57.66% individuals aged 20-29 years old (Gen Z and Millennials) who are currently

residing at Olongapo City, Bataan, and Zambales. They primarily have financial

capabilities of ₱10,000 for their monthly income salary, which also qualifies them as a

customer for their likeness on our product, Bamboo Wind Chimes. It caters to people

who are interested in local arts and culture, and potential buyer of the business product

and services.

• Secondary Target Market

The secondary target market of Bamboo Wind Chimes is classified into four groups

which also residing in Olongapo City, Bataan and Zambales. Based on the survey

conducted by proponents, 3.12% are individuals aged 19 years old and below belong to

the first group. The second group, with a 57.66% are individuals aged 20-29 years old.

The third group, with 36.10% of individuals aged 30-39 years old. The fourth group,

2.4.1 Opening Day Program

These are the overall activities that were done within the first day of launching the

first ever Gordon College Hospitality and Tourism Expo which has the theme of

“Where Hospitality and Tourism Meets Horizons: Unveiling the Future of Hospitality

and Tourism Excellence!” The Opening Ceremony includes the following:

● Rendition of the National Anthem. Olongapo City Hymn and the Gordon College

Hymn. Afterwards, the program was declared by ribbon cutting and the entrance of

the VIPs, DTI representatives, advisers, and exhibitors.

● Opening Remarks were heard from the Dean of the Tourism College Department,

Dr. Mark Alvin Lazaro.
