Singing Game: This a game that needs no introduction just begin singing and passing the broomstick. Students learn the song
as they listen and sing. They interpret the rules of the game as it evolves.

Formation: Circle
• The game does what the lyrics indicate.
~Pass the broomstick ‘round and ‘round the room..... The broomstick is passed quickly from person to person,
thus, NOT with the steady beat.
~ Anybody’s out if the broomstick drops. Person who drops the broom moves to the center of the circle. The
broom is picked up and passed on.
~ Or the one who holds it on the word “stops,” when the music stops. The person holding the broomstick goes to
the center of the circle.

Hand Jive: Each one who is “out” sits inside the circle ready to do the hand jive in partners with the next person “out.”
• Clap partner’s hand (reach up to hand)
• Clap own
• Clap partner’s other hand
• Clap own.

Note: Some have substituted the word “golden” in place of “witch’s.”
