A. Drill Have you seen any artwork?
What kinds of artwork have you seen?
Did you know that artworks have different dimensions?
When can we say that an artwork is two-dimensional art or three-dimensional
art?
B. Review Last meeting, we discussed about Print by rubbing pencil or crayon on paper
placed on top of a textured objects from nature and found objects.
C. Motivation What do you think is the difference between the two objects?

D. Presentation When do we classify something or an artwork as two-dimensional or three-

dimensional? Look at the pictures. What can you say about the images?

These are images of shapes. Those in column A are two-dimensional or 2D

shapes like circle, triangle, rectangle, and square. Meanwhile, the cylinder,
sphere, cone, cube, and rectangular prism in column B are three-dimensional
or 3D shapes.
E. Discussion Like shapes, artworks can also be either two-dimensional or three-
 dimensional.

What exactly is the difference between these types of art?

Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional are forms of visual art. Their

difference lies in dimension or measurement. The art we create on a flat
surface is called two-dimensional or 2D. It only has two dimensions (length
and width). 2D art is created on paper or any flat surface.

Drawing, painting, and printmaking belong to two-dimensional art. These are

commonly done on flat surfaces like paper, stone, canvas, or fabric using tools
such as pencils and paint.

Two-dimensional art is visible in our surroundings. It could be paintings on

walls, hanging pictures, or printed designs on our favorite clothes.

But did you know that three-dimensional art can also be found in our
surroundings? What is 3D art? Three-dimensional or 3D art is created with
depth. 3D art has three dimensions (length, width, and height)

Three-dimensional art can be found both inside and outside our homes.
Examples include vases, bowls, cups, or even your toys. Artworks come in
various designs and forms. Both 2D and 3D art can be done as hobbies to
create visual art using only imagination and creativity.
