Change is essential in such a challenging and rapidly growing world.

Various environmental and


social factors influence change. Managing change is quite a complex task as response to change
can result in creating a great opportunity or insupportable loss. In the context of desirable and
undesirable attributes of a change leader I have experienced many qualities of change leaders
while working on various kinds of projects in my organization. As projects involves extensive
planning and development of organizational strategies hence, change is vital to improve the
output. The projects I have worked were successful because of characteristics of our change
leader.

A change leader must have extensive knowledge and in depth understanding of the scenario and
change requirement and must be loyal towards main objective of project. One of the best
qualities of change leader is persistence and confidence in his vision. A person who do not trust
is own decisions can never lead a successful change. My change leader was also very
approachable and was easy going which encourages every team member to share suggestions
and the leader would listen to every individual’s point of view. Another very much desirable
quality of change leader is the command over his domain. When I face any difficulty during my
project work, my change leader try to elaborate the tasks for me which helped me a lot in
working for objectives. A change leader must not be status conscious or unapproachable
otherwise there is lesser chance of team members to communicate openly. A leader involved in
