Baby Sensory Story

Diving deep down under the sea.


A jellyfish swims by - drift, drift, pulse.

Sensory experience: hold a piece of blue material over the top of the babies. Swim a
jellyfish slowly, slowly, then quickly past the babies.

A seahorse is hiding in long seagrass.
Now it’s moving - bob, bob, bob.

Sensory experience: hang up long strips of green material and hide a seahorse toy
behind them. Say, “peek-a-boo” as you reveal it.

Colourful fish swimming all around.


Their bubbles floating - up, up, up.

Sensory experience: swim the fish around the babies. Blow bubbles close enough for
the babies to attempt to reach for. Say, “pop” as the bubbles pop.

Hear the dolphins having fun.
They are playing and jumping - splash, splash, splash.

Sensory experience: replicate the sounds dolphins make using your mouth (clicks,
whistles and squeaks). Support children as they splash in the water with their hands
or feet.
