ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We overcame several obstacles throughout our college careers via tenacity,

sacrifice, hope, and faith. The researchers would like to express their heartfelt

appreciation to the following individuals for their assistance in completing the study.

We are grateful to MR. CEDRICK B. MELAŇO, LPT, RRT, MPA, our adviser

because he shared his knowledge, gave a thorough evaluation, put forth the time

and effort, and was willing and patient to work with the researchers to make their

work better.

To MR. NESTORIO II D. FELERINO, the director of the research and

publication division, for helping the researchers validate the questionnaires, fix the

issues identified throughout the study, and share his knowledge and

recommendations for improving this research. He also serves as their statistician,

and he was able to assist them by answering their questions regarding the data they

had acquired, offering guidance on how to proceed with their method, and advising

them on the proper structure and language to use for their thesis.
iv

To MRS. CRISTINA D. COLLENA, MAE for providing knowledge as one of

the panelists for the completion of the thesis, for sharing her research expertise, and

for suggesting titles throughout the chapter.

To MR. KIM HEART TEJERO, RRT for participating as one of the panelists

and providing helpful guidance and significant knowledge that helped to bring their

research work together.

To the families of QUIRANTE AND MAGDALUYO, for providing the

emotional, financial, and mental support to the researchers continuously

encouraging them to pray in response to whatever issues they were experiencing as

God would always provide for their needs.

Above all, to our ALMIGHTY GOD, who never fails to answer the researcher's

prayers, for the wisdom, courage, direction, and protection He gave in conducting

this research and for never allowing the researchers lose sight of the fact that He is

always ready to help.

ABSTRACT

JAMES O. QUIRANTE JR. AND KENCH BRYAN F. MAGDALUYO. 2023

KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND PRACTICES OF RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST
IN IMAGING EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE. Undergraduate Thesis, Kidapawan
Doctor’s College Incorporated, Kidapawan City. Pp, 55.
Adviser: Cedrick B. Melaño, RRT, MPA,

The purpose of this study is to evaluate on how imaging equipment are

maintained and determine the levels of knowledge, level of attitudes and the extent

of practices of radiologic technologists in imaging equipment maintenance. This

study utilized a descriptive-survey design employing a quantitative method in

gathering data on the knowledge, attitude, and practices. The researchers employed

a self-created survey questionnaire. The researchers created a collection of

statements based on the indicator's knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. This

research occurred in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, and involved selected

radiologic technologists from several hospitals. The study's respondents are

Radiologic Technologists working in various hospitals in Kidapawan City, North

Cotabato, eleven from Kidapawan Doctors Hospital Inc., four from Kidapawan City

Hospital, four from St. Peregrine Hospital, four from Midway Hospital, four from

Medical Specialist, two from Madonna Hospital and one from Excel Laboratory. As

stated by the Human Resources department, the total numbers of research

participants are thirty radiologic technologists from each hospital combined.

In addition, on selecting respondents for this study, quota sampling was

utilized, characterized as a non-probability sampling strategy in which researchers

vi

establish a sample of individuals who reflect a population. The researchers chose

these people based on the number of radiologic technologists in each hospital and

their specific qualities or traits. Based on the results gathered, it was concluded that

the respondents are knowledgeable and have a positive attitude toward imaging

equipment maintenance. Furthermore, the respondents always practice essential

imaging equipment maintenance. The corresponding implementation of an

intervention plan to further boost knowledge correlates to positive attitudes and,

subsequently, good practices in imaging equipment maintenance.
