AOA, Myself Ezzah Imran and id be briefing the remaining food groups including vegetables, grains and

dairy products. It is important to note that Vegetables, fruits and grains are needed in greater
proportions due to their innumerable benefits.

Coming towards vegetables: These are a good source of providing vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates.
Veggies for example broccoli, spinach, carrots etc. provide vitamins A & C and folate as well as iron and
magnesium. They are low in saturated and Trans fat and high in fiber.

As far as Grains are concerned the basic nutrients from the grains category are carbohydrates, proteins,
fibers and a wide range of vitamins and minerals. These nutrients greatly reduce the risk of heart
diseases, diabetes and colon cancer. The high fiber in whole grains assists in the maintenance of the
digestive system and help prevent constipation.

Now Talking about Milk and Dairy products: These are the nutrient dense foods supplying energy and
high quality proteins with a wide range of essential micronutrients especially calcium, potassium zinc
etc... Milk has been known as nature’s complete diet for long. The protein portion in these dairy
products helps build and repair muscle tissue, similarly calcium aids in making bones and teeth strong
while zinc adds to the immune functions.
