She took his name in
honor of Therese Martin (who was canonized). PASTORAL SERVICE
Took religious vows and
taught for 20 years at Santa Maria College in Calcutta, India.
Pope Pius XII granted him
permission to practice pastoral service as independent nun. HIS WORK
He began his work in support for
the poorest, the sick and the hungry.
Fund the congregation missionaries
of the charity and teach to read to street children. ORDER´S CENTERS The Missionaries of Charity came under the control of Pope Paul VI who authorized Mother Teresa to become a religious in expand the Order other countries.
Opened centers to serve lepers, the
