Born in 1910 in Albania.

His real name was:


Anjezë Gonxhe
Bojaxhiu.

She lived in Albania,


Ireland and India.
THE BEGINNINGS

Entered to the Order of


the Sisters of Our Lady
in Loreto, in Ireland.

She took his name in


honor of Therese
Martin (who was
canonized).
PASTORAL SERVICE

Took religious vows and


taught for 20 years at Santa
Maria College in Calcutta,
India.

Pope Pius XII granted him


permission to practice pastoral
service as independent nun.
HIS WORK

He began his work in support for


the poorest, the sick and the
hungry.

Fund the congregation missionaries


of the charity and teach to read to
street children.
ORDER´S CENTERS
The Missionaries of Charity came under
the control of Pope Paul VI who
authorized Mother Teresa to become a
religious in expand the Order other
countries.

Opened centers to serve lepers, the


elderly, the blind and people with AIDS.
Orphanages for poor and abandoned
children were founded all over the
world.

It´s at the same time a person, a
saint and a novel peace price.

Is a contemporary person to us.

His efforts, humility, and hard


work were recognized for almost
everyone, including governments
and religions.
