CBC announces a unique prime travel show.

We are calling all small towns across


Canada to participate and join the journey
Comedian Daniel Levy to host hour-long show celebrating villages and territories across Canada and
applications are now open. 12 small towns will be selected.

Toronto, Ont — March 14, 2024 — The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), is delighted to
announce a unique prime travel show called: “The Canadian Small Town Tour.” The journey begins with
an invitation to towns across the country to apply and compete for a chance to be in the national show.
The deadline for applications is April 8, 2024.

The show will be hosted by the Daniel Levy a comedian of Schitt's Creek fame and it is an opportunity
for towns to showcase their unique qualities and fascinating stories which make it a great place to visit.

exploring Canada's small towns; it's about celebrating the heart and soul of these communities and the
people who make them special. I can't wait to share these stories across the country." Said Levy to CBC

Just 12 small towns will be selected, one from each province and two from the territories. A panel of
judges, representing diverse backgrounds including Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow Federal Minister of
Tourism, Soraya Martinez Ferrada Vancouver Mayor, David Eby, Manitoba Premier, Wab Kinew CBC
President, Catherine Tait Nova Scotia Premier, Tim Houston, will evaluate the submissions based on the
following criteria:

- Population Size: Towns must have fewer than 15,000 residents.


- Community Support: Strong endorsement from local officials, mayors, and residents.
- Compelling Narrative: A town spirit that resonates, exceptional culinary experiences,
breathtaking landscapes, vibrant downtowns, and outstanding sports teams—all factors that
attract tourists.

Once the 12 towns are selected, production crews will embark on a journey across the country to capture
the essence of each community, promising viewers an exciting and diverse exploration of Canada's small-
town treasures.
