Dear Hiring Manager,

I would love to be considered for the dental hygiene position at your place of work. The

past two years of dental hygiene schooling has greatly prepared me for such a position.

I expect to graduate this May from the Associate of Applied Science Degree Program in Dental

Hygiene at Lansing Community College. During my time in the program, I completed four

Clinical Dental Hygiene courses that offered hands on training in the Dental Clinic. I am

currently in my last clinical dental hygiene course. This includes full services such as

radiographs, perio charting, hard tissue charts, doctor checks, and a cleaning. These services are

3offered to all, including children, adolescents, adults, and elderly patients. Under supervision, I

am able to perform the following duties:

- Medical History/developing patient treatment plans.

- Removal of soft and hard deposits from teeth, polishing, and flossing.

- Performing extraoral and intraoral exams, making note of any recession, sores, gum

disease, and abnormalities.

- Applying fluoride or sealants.

- Taking impressions.

- Taking dental radiographs (CMRS, HBWX, VBWX, Pano).

- Assisting the Dentist during exams.

- Using Eaglesoft software.

Prior to pursuing my career in dental hygiene, I gained experience in the healthcare field,

working as a Team Leader at an Assisted Living. I worked diligently on 3rd shift during my time

in the program and gained experience working with the elderly. This contributed to my interest in

helping others and really solidified my want of working with people in the dental field.

I am providing you with a copy of my resume and a thank you for consideration. I look forward

to hearing from you and interviewing for this position.

Sincerely,

Makaha Woodman
