VII. SUMMARY AND Catch Up Fridays, a Program by the Department of Education aims to bridge the
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE learning gaps among the learners when it comes to reading, writing, and setting
ACTIVITY desirable values. By means of different activities, teachers serve as guides and
facilitators while learners are having their activities. Learners enjoy the activities
which are mostly game-based. The program is conducted by every Fridays
instead of having a regular class lesson.

among students.
The primary goal of the program is to narrow the reading gap and enhance reading
skills by offering a variety of activities tailored to students' abilities and reading levels.
At Padolina Elementary School, under the leadership of its dedicated and caring
School Principal I, Mrs. Nerissa S. Manabat, the implementation of the program is met with
enthusiasm. Teachers diligently prepare a diverse range of activities in advance and act as
facilitators during class sessions. Students actively engage in these activities, which are often
game-based, making learning a fun and immersive experience.
Grade V students, guided by their advisers, Mrs. Jeremy F. Castro, Teacher III, and
Mrs. Raquel R. Bolisay, Master Teacher II, lead the Catch-Up activities in their respective
classes, ensuring active participation and engagement among students.
Overall, despite the ongoing nature of the program, its impact has already been felt,
as it has succeeded in fostering a renewed enthusiasm for reading and learning among
students.
Catch-Up Fridays will continue to be a regular fixture until the conclusion of the
School Year 2024.
