Perfofmance Tasks #4 (A) PLC
LEARNING OUTCOME:
Create, modify and test basic PLC program.
LEARNING ACTIVITY:
Basic programming of PLC using relay logic.
EQUIPMENT/RESOURCES:
PLC Trainer
Computer with PLC installed software, MELSOFT Series GX Developer Sample
operations to be programmed
OBJECTIVE:
At the end of this activity, the students should be able to create, modify and test basic
PLC program.
PROCEDURE:
Read each description of operation below then design a ladder diagram to meet
the conditions. Connect and then test the installed components.
Design an equivalent PLC ladder logic diagram for the control circuit FORWARD-
REVERSED-WYE-DELTA motor control circuit based on the operation given.
1. Motor runs in forward direction when PB5 is pressed. Motor stays running
(Forward) even PB5 is release.
2. Motor switch from Star to Delta after 5 seconds (even PB5 is released)
3. Forward indicator lamp H1 (RED) operated when motor running in forward
direction.
4. PB6 have no function until motor has stopped.
5. Motor runs in reversed direction when PB6 is pressed. Motor stays running
(Reversed) even PB6 is release.
6. Motor switch from Star to Delta after 5 seconds (even PB6 is released)
7. PB5 have no function until motor has stopped.
8. Motor stop when running in any direction after 10 seconds (basis for timer
counting) when motor runs in delta.
9. Reversed indicator lamp H2 (GREEN) operated when motor running in
reverse direction.
10. H3 (YELLOW) flashing 1 second ON/OFF when motor runs in any direction and
stop when motor stop.
11. After 10 seconds, the operation will resume (If motor runs in forward or reverse
rotation). This operation will repeat only for 6 cycle. After 6 cycle the operation will
stop. To start the motor pressed PB5 or PB6.
