Introduction to presentation
Presentation is a form of illustration that involves the practice of showing and explaining the
content of a topic to targeted audience and learner. Presentation is an important act presented
by business people, educators, students, and trainers to make their views over a selected topic
more vivid to the audience. Now-a-days, it is common to use a computer presentation
programs to ease such presentation and these software packages are the important
components for making a good presentation.
Normally, these software programs are bundled with the office-package (software used for
the office purposes). Presentation program that is used to illustrate information, normally in
the form of a slide show, includes three major functions: an editor that allows text to be
inserted and formatted, a method for inserting and manipulating graphic images and a slide-
show system to display the content. A Slide is basically a single screen image that contains a
combination of text numbers and graphics (such as charts, clip art on picture) on a colourful
background.

2.Discuss about Presentation program or software with examples


A presentation program is a program that helps create a slideshow that addresses a topic.
Presentation programs can be used in businesses and schools for discussing a topic or for
teaching. Often, the presenter uses a projector to project the slideshow up on to screen that
everyone can see. Below is an example of Microsoft PowerPoint, a commonly used program
that creates presentations.
Below is a short list of popular presentation programs available today.
• Google Slides
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• iWork Keynote on the Apple
• OpenOffice Impress

3.Define MS-PowerPoint with its features


MS PowerPoint is a program that is included in the Microsoft Office suite. It is used to
make presentations for personal and professional purposes.
Its features are:
• Slide Layout
• Slide Library
• Print a Presentation, etc

4.Define the following terms


Slide:
A slide is a single page of a presentation. Collectively, a group of slides may be known as a
slide deck. A slide show is an exposition of a series of slides or images in an electronic device
or in a projection screen.
Animation:
Animation is the art of making inanimate objects appear to move. History’s first recorded
animator is, Pygmalion of Greek and Roman mythology. The theory of the animated cartoon
preceded the invention of the cinema by half a century.
Transition:
A transition between paragraphs can be a word or two (however, for example, similarly), a
phrase, or a sentence. Transitions can be at the end of the first paragraph, at the beginning of
the second paragraph, or in both places.
Slide show:
A presentation of photographic slides, or images on a transparent base, placed in a projector
and viewed sequentially on a screen. a presentation of digital images, sometimes with text,
viewed in progression on a screen.

5.Write the step for the followings


i)Create a new presentation
• Launch the PowerPoint Program.
• Choosing a Design.
• Create Title Page.
• Add More Slides.
• Add Charts, Pictures, Graphs, Etc.
• Add Transitions. Changing the Order.
• Play the presentation
ii)Insert a new slide
• On the Design tab, select the theme you want. To see more themes, expand the Theme
gallery.
• On the Home tab, click New Slide.
• On the Transitions tab, click the transition you want.
• On the Transitions tab, click Apply To All.
iii)Change layout
• Select the slide that you want to change the layout for.
• Select Home > Layout.
• Select the layout that you want. The layouts contain placeholders for text, videos,
pictures, charts, shapes, clip art, a background, and more.
iv)Change theme
• In the slide thumbnail pane on the left, select a slide.
• On the Design tab, in the Themes group, click the More button (illustrated below) to
open the entire gallery of themes:
• Point the mouse at the theme you want to apply. Right-click it, and then select Apply
to All Slides.
v)Slide Transition
• Mover the cursor over the transition buttons to preview the effects.
• Click on the Transition effect button to apply the slide transition effect.
• Click on Transition Sound button to apply sound effect for transition.
• Click on Transition Speed button to adjust the speed.
• Click on Apply to All to apply the same transition effect to all the slides.
vi)Animation
• Custom Animation panel appears on the right-hand side of the current slide.
• Select the object you wish to apply animation
• Click the Add Effect button and choose the animation style.
• Frequently-used effects are found in "Entrance" styles in the menu
• Click the Play button to preview the animation.
vii)Slide show
• Click the left mouse button
• Hit the spacebar
• Use the arrow keys on the keyboard. Up and left go back, right and down go forward.
• Click on the Esc key on keyboard to go back to Normal view
viii)Save a Presentation
• Click the Microsoft Office Button
• Click Save
• You may need to use the Save As feature when you need to save a presentation under
a different name or to save it for earlier versions of PowerPoint. Remember that older
versions of PowerPoint will not be able to open PowerPoint 2019 presentation unless
you save it as a PowerPoint 2019 format.

6.Prepare any 10 slides on any topics from your textbook.

8.Prepare a quiz using MS Power point.

In conclusion, the best way to conclude a PowerPoint presentation is to summarize the key
points and provide a clear call to action. Make sure you have given your audience the
information they need to take the next step. You can also include contact information if they
have questions or need clarification.
