IP address subnet mask first host last host valid hosts

(network no) (broadcast)

192.168.11.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.11.0 192.168.11.255 192.168.11.1 - 192.168.11.254

172.24.1.10 255.255.0.0 172.24.0.0 172.24.255.255 172.24.0.1 - 172.24.255.254

10.10.10.10 255.0.0.0 10.0.0.0 10.255.255.255 10.0.0.1 - 10.255.255.254

First host having all zeros is reserved and can not be used as a valid host. This is used to represent network
no. The last address is reserved for broadcast purposes, so can not be allocated to the system. So all the
addresses between first and last are valid.
