System of Play: The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System with 9 rounds.
Time Control: 90 Minutes plus 30 second increment from move 1 for the entire game.
Tie Break: In case of a tie, the latest FIDE Rules shall come into effect. The Cash prizes however will not be shared.
Draw Offer: Players shall not agree for a draw before 30th move of black. As per AICF regulations, wristwatches are
strictly prohibited inside the playing area.

General Instructions:
To enter the tournament hall Identity Card is mandatory for all players.
AICF Registration 2024-2025 for Indian Players: Indian players should be compulsorily registered with AICF. Players not yet
registered can do so by resubmitting a sum of Rs.300/- online on https://prs.aicf.in. Entries from unregistered players will
not be entertained.
TNSCA player registration : TNSCA player registration is compulsory for all Tamil Nadu players. TNSCA Player Registration
fee is Rs.150/- for the year 2024-2025. Players / Arbiters registration should be done well before the start of event
(Tournament). New entrants to the field of chess are informed that TNSCA players registration is mandatory and it should
be done well before participating in any tournament.

For fresh TNSCA registration, players are requested to keep their scanned passport size photograph and birth certificate
and a valid email address ready before the registration process.
Note : Only passport size (less than 1MB) photographs in jpeg format should be uploaded. Chengalpattu District Players
registration Fee 2024-2025 is Rs. 75/-
Default Time :The default time will be 15 minutes.
Tie-Break: The following tie break rules will be applicable for all the FIDE Rated Swiss Events under AICF.
i) Buchholz Cut 1 ii) Buchholz iii) Sonneborn-Berger iv) Direct encounter v) The greater number of wins
including forfeits vi) Number of wins with Black pieces
Protests: If any, against the decision of the Arbiter or the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with a protest fee of
`.1,000/- within 15 minutes of the occurrence of the incident to the appeals committee. The protest fee will be refunded
if the appeal is upheld.
Appeals Committee: Before the commencement of the tournament, AICF / ORGANIZERS shall form a five-member
appeals committee with two reserves. All the members and reserves shall be from different federations/states for A, B& C
categories). No member of the committee can vote on a dispute in which a player from his own federation is involved and
in such case the reserve member(s) shall take his/her place in the committee formed by the Organizers.
Interpretation: For further interpretations of the rule(s) and deciding any aspect not covered by the said tournament
prospectus, the decision of the Tournament Director shall be final and binding on all the participants. The Tournament
Director has every right to make any addition/deletion/amendment to these rules. However, such changes shall be
displayed on the notice board with the prior approval from AICF & TNSCA.
Lodging: Unfurnished, separate Male / Female dormitory accommodation is available at the venue for free of cost
to all the players. Bed, Bedsheet and pillow is available on the rental basis.
Boarding: High quality Food will be available inside the college campus at a cost of `.1,000/-per person for five days
includes (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner).
Only limited dormitory accommodation is available on first come first serve basis. Interested players / Accompanying
