 UNIT I
INTRODUCTION

A. BACK GROUND

English is a global language that has been spoken by international society in every aspect.
Mastering English as international language is as a future’s preparation which is needed in the
global world. Nowadays, English has become international language that has been used in daily
activities. In Indonesia whether public or private schools uses English as they daily
learning/habit. Unfortunately, there are many students who are not able to speak English
fluently too. Therefore, the English Department of SMPIT Al Ikhlas Islamic Bilingual School
means to hold an English Camp activity. The purpose of this activity is to make students have
better understanding and able to speak English that will be implemented in their daily life.

English Camp is one of contextual method that can lead students to practice directly where
the students become able to express and to actualize their potential English. This activity also as
a platform for the students to be more active in every English learning activities and to make a
better communication with students who are really keen to speak English.

Therefore, English Camp is one of the best way for students to learn, to practice, to
sharpen and to speak their mind in fun way. Through English Camp, we also provide a platform
for students to get more interested in English where the English Camp activities involving many
ways and method to learn English in fun way.

B. LEGAL BASIC
This activity is carried out based on the needs of program or event is to learn English
skills that will be implemented in school environment and daily life.

C. PURPOSE
1) To improve English skills by providing a platform for students of SMPIT Al Ikhlas
to learn and speak up their mind
2) To raise the importance of English of SMPIT Al Ikhlas
3) To discover the talents and develop skills in English
4) General Purpose

D. TARGET

The English Camp targets are all students from Grade 7 of SMPIT Al Ikhlas Pondok Melati

F. ACTIVITY ANALYSIS
 Evaluation
- The rooms (in Camp) were too high, it made the students and teachers fatigue
- Some tutors came late during the learning
- The facilities are not good enough
- The supervising from the course for the English Habit was not optimum
- All rooms (camp) couldn’t be locked
- There was no English learning during the outbound
- The bus (back to Bekasi) was not clean enough because some of participants didn’t
keep the bus clean

 Recommendation
- Checking all facilities of the course
- Extra supervising for the English habit
- Preparing English learning for the outbound
- Keeping the bus clean
- Choosing the new course

A. CONCLUSION
Thus this report was made, as a guideline for implementing the activities of the
English Camp in 2022/2023. We hope that this activity will receive support from all
parties and be useful for increasing awareness of the nation and state at large and can
increase awareness of rights and obligations as citizens of SMPIT AL-IKHLAS in later.
