Hi Pandiaraj

Thanks for reaching out. These reactions are somewhat sensitive to oxygen so we usually either 1) run
the reactions under a positive pressure of argon throughout the reaction (often through a Schlenk
manifold via a spaghetti line) or 2) add all the solids and solvents under positive pressure of argon and
then seal vial with parafilm and electrical tape. I hope this helps - let us know if you have any trouble
reproducing the procedure and we can send more detailed prep with photographs, etc.

Also, please let us know if we can offer any assistance as you work on these reactions - we are happy
to help in any way that we can.

All the best and good luck!

Rob

Dear Professor,

Greetings.

I am Pandiaraj, (Postdoc from Uppsala University) writing this email to clarify some of the doubts in
your JACS paper entitled "
Catalytic Alkene Carboaminations Enabled by Oxidative Proton-Coupled Electron
Transfer". We are very interested in this work and trying to do this reaction with our catalysts. I have
a few doubts about the supporting information. In the supporting information, it is mentioned that the
flushed with Argon. Are you purging the Ar gas inside the test tube with the solid reactants? And the
Ar purging will continue throughout the progress of the reaction? I would be grateful if you can help
me on this matter.

Thanks

Pandiaraj
