GB QUICK USE.

8.1.0.3.1 NORMAL PLANNING

A weather-permissible (ex-Suitable) aerodrome is an adequate
aerodrome
plus weather conditions: where, for the anticipated time of use,
meteorological
reports, or forecasts, or any combination thereof, indicate that the
meteorological
conditions will be at or above the required aerodrome operating minima
specified
in GB 8.1.0.3.3. and the runway surface condition reports indicate that a
safe
landing will be possible.

8.1.0.3.1.1 DESTINATION ALTERNATE AERODROME

The departure aerodrome may be selected as destination alternate.
In sectors planned by LIDO Automated mode, the planned destination
alternate is
the aerodrome that can be reached with the least fuel burn.
However, in long haul operations and medium haul sectors planned by
FD in LIDO
Interactive mode, when:
− significant weather conditions are expected at destination, FD shall
plan for
the first commercial priority destination alternate. The selection of the
planned alternate is optimized when the forecast weather conditions at
destination indicate (ETA±1HR, application of forecast following TAF
change indicators as per GB 8.1.6.1):
• SN, SG, GR, FG, SQ, FC, SS, DS, PO, VA (any characteristic and
intensity of phenomena, when applicable);
• DU, FU, SA, with forecast visibility of less than 3000 m (2 SM);
• wind component > relevant AOM limitation for the expected runway
state
-5 kts;
• below operating minima for the expected runway in use

8.1.0.3.1.3 HIGH MEA ROUTES

During planning, the Flight Crew shall verify the applicability of the PNR
on the
planned route.

Whenever the expected conditions would not allow the continuation of

the flight

beyond the PNR toward destination after engine failure, a weather-

permissible

driftdown alternate aerodrome as per GB 8.1.0.3.1 shall be selected by

the

Flight Crew during BP analysis

The Flight Crew shall indicate the selected aerodrome in the “alternates”

section of the OFP.

8.1.0.3.2.2 WITHOUT DESTINATION ALTERNATE AERODROME

-the duration of the planned flight from take-off to landing does not
exceed

6 hours

-Two weather-permissible and separate runways are available at

Destination

-Destination weather forecast (valid for ETA ±1HR) is not less than
ceiling

2000 ft (Circling MDH+500 ft if higher) and visibility 5000 m.

-An additional fuel quantity equivalent to 15 min of holding at 1500 ft

AAL is

carried (at the destination aerodrome in standard conditions

8.1.0.3.3 AERODROME PLANNING MINIMA

For PBN operations, an aerodrome may be selected as a destination

alternate only if an instrument approach procedure that does not rely on

GNSS is available (1) either at that aerodrome (i.e. destination alternate)

or

at the destination aerodrome.

8.1.0.3.3.3 DESTINATION AIRPORT

An aerodrome shall be selected as destination (not including isolated
destinations)

when the weather reports and/or forecasts indicate that during a period

commencing 1 hour before and ending 1 hour after the estimated time of

arrival at the aerodrome, the weather conditions will be at or above the

applicable landing minima as follows:

− RVR or VIS must be equal to or better than the applicable operating

minima, regardless of reported ceiling and vertical visibility; and

− For Type A or circling operations ceiling at or above MDH.

8.1.0.3.4 RESCUE AND FIRE FIGHTING SERVICE (RFFS) PROTECTION

LEVEL

Aeroplane Type A359/A339 A332 A321neo A319-A320 A220

Aeroplane RFFS category 9 8 7 6 6

A reduction in the aerodrome RFFS category may be accepted according

to the

following policy and after a risk assessment
