E-file cylinder bit prep is meant for perfecting the skin around the nails (Proximal & lateral
folds) after cuticles trimming, all dry skin is being gently exfoliated leaving a nice and
smooth surface. The skin is reacting excellent to this type of treatment – cuticles become
smaller over the time, after each manicure the skin regenerates beautifully without the
appearance of hangnails.

This step is not necessary to be performed at all times with all clients only if we can still see
the dry skin after cuticles trimming also if our client’s skin is prone to appearance of
hangnails after the manicure.

E-file Cylinder bit prep is to be performed in two steps.

First step e-file cylinder bit. Pushing the skin away from the nail from the inner side out, e-
file machine is set on forward mode on 5K rotations per minute (adjust the speed if needed).
Follow finger & drill bit positioning (as shown in the picture), at this step we are working
with a left side shoulder of cylinder bit with a very low pressure or no pressure at all – it all
depends of the skin type. Only cylinder drill bits with red or yellow flag are suitable for this
technique.

Second step. Polishing. E-file machine is set on forward mode & 5K RPM, this time the
entire body of the cylinder drill bit needs to be used to polish the skin around the nails with
rotative movements without pressure.
