Q1) Where do you refer regarding Dangerous Goods allowed as Passenger Baggage?
Ans1) IATA table 2.3 A and IndiGo DGM kept at check-in counters, boarding gates, X-Ray points and APM
office.
Ans3) Maximum 2.5 kgs provided baggage must permit the release of gas.
Q5) Where can a passenger carry spare or loose lithium/dry/nickel metal hydride batteries?
2 Batteries (Exceeding power rating of 100 Wh but not exceeding 160 Wh)
Q6) Where can a passenger carry PED (Portable Electronic Devices) like mobile, cameras, tablets etc.?
Ans6) Allowed as carryon as well as checked baggage. Provided devices in checked baggage must be
completely switched off.
Q7) How many PED’s like mobiles, laptops, cameras etc. are allowed per passenger?
Ans7) One passenger is allowed to carry maximum of 15 PED’s not exceeding power rating of 100Wh
Q8) How would you check the power rating for the battery?
Q9) Where would you refer for limitations related to battery power?
Ans9) Checked in baggage only maximum 50 cartridges with one licensed weapon.
In case the passenger wants to carry more than one licensed weapon and/or more than fifty cartridges,
they require written permission from DGCA.
Q13) Do we have to inform the captain about Ammunitions carried as passenger baggage ? If yes,
how?
Ans13) Yes Captain will be informed about ammunition by mentioning the location in SI remark on Load
and Trim sheet.
1. If the mobility aid is with non-spillable wet batteries, nickel metal hydride batteries or Dry
batteries
a) Mobility aids with installed batteries must be properly secured in the compartment and
must be protected from damage.
b) The battery terminals must be protected from short circuits
c) If the battery is attached to the wheelchair, the electrical circuits must be isolated
d) If the battery is removed as per manufacturer’s instruction, then it must be carried in strong
rigid packaging and must be carried in cargo compartment
e) For spare battery, he can carry
o One spare wet, non spillable battery
o Two spare nickel metal hydride battery or dry battery.
f) The Pilot in command must be informed about the location of mobility aids with installed
batteries, removed batteries and spare batteries.
a) Check whether the battery is designed to be removed from the wheelchair or the same is
non removable as per manufacturer’s instruction
b) If the Lithium battery is required to be removed, the battery must be carried in cabin but the
power rating must not exceed 300 Wh.
c) Mobility aids with installed lithium batteries (non-removable) must be properly secured in
the compartment and must be protected from damage.
d) The battery terminals must be protected from short circuits
e) If the battery is attached to the wheelchair, the electrical circuits must be isolated
f) For spare battery, he can carry
One spare lithium battery not exceeding 300Wh
Two spare lithium battery not exceeding 160Wh.
g) The removed lithium battery must only be carried in cabin & must be protected from
damage.
h) The Pilot in command must be informed about the location of mobility aids with installed
batteries, removed batteries and spare batteries.
Q15) Do we have to inform Pilot-In-Command regarding battery powered mobility Aids carried by
passenger? If Yes, How?
Ans15) Yes, Information is given on Load and Trim Sheet (SI Column)
