AIMS FOR THIS TERM

Are to:
 Promote skills of enquiry, observation and interpretation of information
 Stimulate interest in pupils in the sustainable use and conservation of resources
 Encourage pupils to apply basic spatial concepts on a range of scales in a variety of environments
 Develop in pupils positive attitudes towards the economic activities within their own societies and elsewhere in the world
 Develop in pupils skills of informed judgement, decision making and problem solving in the environment

OBJECTIVES
Pupils should be able to:
 Demonstrate an understanding of the relationships of geographical phenomena and how they change
 Describe processes responsible for shaping the physical and human landscape
 Explain how human processes bring about change in the landscape
 Explain the economic activities and cultural behaviours of various societies in different parts of Zimbabwe and the Southern African Development
Community
 Explain how resources are used sustainably
 Demonstrate the skills of informed judgement, decision making and problem solving in different environmental issues
