Some of my favorite Lifehacks

Every now and then, you hear a tip or trick that sounds so absurd or strange, it can't possibly
work. But every now and then...it's true. You never know who might need one from time to
time!

1) Brain freeze can remedy a headache. So, if you happen to have a headache on a hot
summer day and don’t have any aspirin, go get some ice cream.

2) Need to pick up small pieces of glass? Run a flashlight over the area because the glass
will reflect the light differently, making it easier for you to find.

3) Dead batteries bounce when dropped on a hard surface. Good batteries don’t.

4) If you want a deal for your cable/internet then call your telecom saying you want to
cancel. Do not speak to the billing department, speak to retention.

5) If you burn your tongue, try taking some sugar and kind of like rub it into your tongue
with the roof of your mouth (if that makes sense).

6) Flipping a jar upside down and smacking the bottom sharply with the palm of your hand
will break the vacuum and allow you to open the lid.

7) You can press the spot between your eyebrows and raise your tongue to touch the roof of
your mouth to open your sinuses. (Must be done at same time)

8) We’re sure you’re stocking up on sweet smelling candles to make your home extra cozy
for the colder months. But, if your candles are burning too low to reach the wick, there’s
no reason to go without your favorite scent. Instead of burning your fingers, light a piece
of uncooked spaghetti. It’ll reach into those deep candles and burn long enough to light
your candles.

9) A staple remover has perfectly sized thin teeth that make them perfect to easily slide
between the rings of a key ring. When you clamp them down, it spreads the key rings
apart and makes it easy to slide a new key on.

10) Take a picture of business cards other professionals may hand you – this way in case you
lose it, guess what?

11) Speaking of cards, keep a card in your wallet that is highly visible that lists emergency
contacts, blood type, medications, and allergies – you never know when you may need it,
and it’s one of the first places a medical professional will check if you’re transported
alone to an emergency room.

12) Use binder clips to fix broken keyboard feet.

13) Use binder clips again to clip onto your desk/workspace and organize your charging
cables.

14) Keep an old ketchup or other squeeze top container, wash it out, and add pancake mix for
a no-mess experience for that next pancake breakfast.

15) Use a hanging shoe rack to store your cleaning supplies for better organization and more
room under the sink.

16) Tend to lend things to friends and forget about lending them later. Take a picture of them
holding the item for those short-term memory issues.

17) Use a manual turning can opener to open those dang blister packs and avoid cutting
yourself in the process.

18) Those cheap grappling you find in Walmart or Target – buy a large one and use to
transport 4-5 full grocery bags from your car to your house after shopping.

19) Use a soda-pop tab to offset hangers and save space in closets.

20) Use toothpaste to clear up hazy car headlights.

21) Use a bread tab to hold your spot on any roll of tape.

22) If at a hotel that has broken or no USB port chargers – the back of a tv usually has one to
use for charging.

23) Use a accented character in your passwords ( ‘, ~ ), no-one will be able to guess it.

24) Use a sunglasses or eyeglasses case to keep your cables in your backpack or suitcase for
easy access when traveling.

25) Before throwing away a used post-it, run it between the keys on your keyboard to collect
inaccessible debris.
