Due Process
“We will show kindness and respect to others.”
First Offense: The student will be given a verbal warning from Miss L. The warning will be documented by Miss L using the
first two sections of the student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected and returned within one school day.
Second Offense: The student will meet with Miss L to discuss the incident, create a plan to prevent future incidents, and
fill out all parts of the student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected, and the sheet will be returned within one
school day.
Third Offense: The student will meet with Miss L and the school counselor to discuss the incident, create a plan to
prevent future incidents, and fill out all parts of the student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected, and the sheet will
be returned within one school day. An email will also be written to the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student explaining
the incident.
Fourth Offense: The student will have a meeting with Miss L and their parent(s)/guardian(s) to discuss the incident,
create a plan to prevent future incidents, and fill out all parts of the student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected
at the time of the meeting.
Fifth Offense: At the fifth offense, the student will be removed from the classroom indefinitely. Miss L will document the
incident using the first two sections of the student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected, and the sheet will be
returned within one school day. The student, Miss L, and the principal will meet to create a continuity plan for classwork.
Parents will be notified of the changes by official school letter and email.

Third Offense: The student will meet with Miss L to discuss the incident, create a plan to prevent future incidents, and fill
out all parts of the student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected, and the sheet will be returned within one school
day. The third offense will result in removal from the class/lab for five full class periods, in addition to the remainder of
the class period the incident occurs. The offense will also result in the student being required to retake and pass their
safety quiz. An email will be written to the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student explaining the incident.
Fourth Offense: The student will meet with Miss L and their parent(s)/guardian(s) to discuss the incident, create a plan
to prevent future incidents, and fill out all parts of the student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected at the time of
the meeting. The student will be removed from the class/lab for three full class periods, in addition to the remainder of
the class period the incident occurs. The fourth offense will also result in the student being assigned a one-page, single-
spaced paper on the importance of following safety rules.

meet to create a continuity plan for classwork. Miss L will document the incident using the first two sections of the
student contact sheet. Signatures will be collected, and the sheet will be returned within one school day. Parents will be

1. Wear safety glasses and any other required PPE at all times in the lab.
2. No student may work in the lab without Miss L present.
3. No student shall participate in labs without first passing their class-specific quiz with a
100%.
4. Properly present yourself before entering the lab. - Any dangling jewelry or baggy
clothes must be removed. Closed-toed shoes must be worn. Long hair must be
properly secured.
5. Follow all written and verbal instructions carefully. If you do not understand a section,
stop and ask for further direction before continuing.
6. Know the locations and operating procedures, where appropriate, for all safety
equipment including first aid kit, eyewash station, safety shower, fire extinguisher, and
fire blanket. Know where the fire alarm and exits are located.
7. Observe all warning signs and read all safety labels.
8. No horseplay will be allowed in the lab.
9. Report all safety concerns or hazards to Miss L immediately.
10. If you or your lab partners are in immediate danger, you are permitted to yell to get the
immediate attention of Miss L.
11. At the end of the class period/lab, return all equipment to its proper place. Ensure that
all machines and equipment are turned off.
12. Before leaving the lab, wash your hands following proper handwashing procedures.
