About a cow

Did you know that it takes 2 litres of water to produce a hamburger? That´s only part
of the data people like Greta Thunberg are bringing out to encourage the world to
adopt a plant based diet.

It´s not big news that intensive cattle raising is one of the most relevant issues when
talking about the environment and its deterioration but as meat consume rises up
every year it seems to be useful to make a list of some interesting facts:

- Cows are responsible for 15% of greenhouse gas emissions from around the planet

- Livestock waste is contaminating a 50% of the world´s water soucers with nitrates,
antibiotics and pathogenic microorganisms

- According to a FAO investigation between 2000 and 2010, 70% of deforestation was
due to commercial livestock

Let´s face it! After reading this is not that easy to go for that hamburger, there are
many issues to consider consciously and to be honest, meat isn´t something that we
really need to eat in order to stay healthy or strong so I´d join Greta and friends on
their loable journey to save the planet and I´d invite you all to get look for that broccoli
lover that lives in each one of us!
