 Weather Advisory (April 26-28, 2024)

- Sindh

 From 26th to 28th April, wind, rain and hail are likely to occur in Jacobabad, Dadu,
Larkana, Sukkur and Rohri.
 There is a possibility of light rain with thunder in Karachi, Hyderabad Nawabshah and
Jamshoro region.
 South Sindh will continue to be hot and during the day the maximum temperature will be
between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius.

- Punjab:

 Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chakwal, Tulagung, Attock and Jhelum districts to experience 30


to 50 mm of rain while some areas, like Murree, might experience over 65 mm of rain.
 Sialkot, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Lahore and adjacent districts are likely
to get 25 to 50 mm of rain.
 In South Punjab, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, DG Khan,
Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu and Rajanpur areas are also likely to experience thunderstorm
with hail. The intensity of rainfall is expected to decrease towards the south-east and the
Cholistan desert.

- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

 Hazara, Abbottabad, Swat Swabi, Malakand and Mardan to experience heavy


thundershowers accompanied by hailstorms.

 Galiat, Malam Jabba and Kalam areas may receive another 75 to 100 mm of rain.
 Kotli, Bagh Muzaffarabad and Poonch areas including Rawalkot to get rainfall on the scale
of 60 to 85 mm which is likely to result in flooding of rivers.
 Dir, Chitral, Kaghan valley and Azad Kashmir to get snowfall in areas with altitudes above
8,500 feet.

- Balochistan

 Heavy thundershowers are likely to occur in the northern parts of the province including,
Quetta, Pishin, Muslim Bagh, Ziarat and Zhob.
 South Balochistan including Khuzdar, Turbat Panjgur and Gwadar will remain mostly
sunny, but the temperature is expected to drop by 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.

- Recommendations

 Thunderstorm Areas: Avoid traveling or outdoor activities during the storm and stay
indoors and away from windows and doors to prevent injury from lightning strikes and
strong winds. Keep your phone charged and stay informed about weather updates to
ensure your safety.

 Flood-Prone Areas: Evacuate immediately if ordered by authorities and move valuable


items to higher floors to prevent damage from floodwaters. Stay away from floodwaters,
as they can be contaminated with sewage and other hazards.

 Snowfall Areas: Stay indoors and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary. Keep an
emergency kit with essentials like food, water, and first aid supplies in case you become
