Valentines Letter
To my beloved Dravin,
I’ve decided to take some time to sit down and tell you how much I love you. I feel that since we
live together romantic gestures like this get thrown to the back burner compared to everyday
stresses. However, you never fall shy of letting me know just how much you care for me.
One of my favorite memories is spending the entire summer with you. I simply just cannot
narrow down our long stream of memories of those few months to a singular event because I
remember and cherish it all. From my mom’s wedding to the subsequent airport/strep throat
fiasco, you have stuck by my side through it all. Even on the seemingly mundane days, you have
brightened them with your infectious smile and positivity. You dropped everything in August to
move to Enid with me for college, and that alone is a spectacle of your character.
We are nearing our first anniversary, and I still get the same butterflies I did when we very first
met. While the situations around us have changed, when I’m with you time truly does seem to
stop. Your touch feels like a home that I want to live in forever. I’m not sure entirely what peace
is supposed to feel like, but I think it may feel a lot like you. You have proven to me not only am
I lovable, but I am deserving of kindness. Your loyalty, compassion, and patience have all
supported me during these rough transitions we’ve found ourselves in. I can only try to be half as
selfless as you.
Dravin, you are my best friend and the absolute sweetest man I have ever met, and I thank the
moon and stars that you crossed my path when you did. You are my soulmate in every universe,
and I can’t imagine life without you. I promise to love you until the end of time.
Pinky promise,
Julie
