D. Lesson Proper
Discuss first what is Carpentry.
► Different types of tools and usage.

Chisel ►Chisels are versatile and indispensable tools that offer precision and control
when working with wood. From shaping and carving to creating intricate joinery,
chisels are a woodworker’s best friend.
Claw Hammer ►This versatile tool is an essential part of any carpenter’s toolkit and
serves multiple purposes. The claw hammer’s iconic design features a flat head for
driving nails and a curved claw for removing them, making it indispensable for a wide
range of carpentry tasks.

Tape Measure ►The common tape measure is the cornerstone of accurate

measurements in carpentry. It allows you to measure and mark dimensions with
precision, ensuring your cuts and joints are spot-on.

Circular Saw ►A versatile power tool, circular saws are perfect for making cuts in
various materials, including wood, plywood, and composite boards.

Screwdriver Set ►A set of screwdrivers, including both flathead and Phillips-head, is

essential for driving screws into wood and tightening various fasteners.

Level ►Achieving a level surface and ensuring a vertical alignment is crucial. A

level helps you maintain accuracy in your projects.

Combination Square ►This versatile tool allows you to measure and mark angles,
check squareness, and establish accurate reference lines. This is a must-have for
layout work and precision measurements.

Power Drill ► A power drill is a carpenter’s best friend, providing the ability to drill
holes and drive screws efficiently. Look for a drill with selectable speed and torque
settings.

Miter Saw ►For making precise crosscuts, bevel cuts, and mitered angles, a miter
saw can be the answer. It’s perfect for framing, trim work, and creating accurate
angled joints.

Hand Planes ►Hand planes, including the versatile block plane, are used to shape
and smooth wood surfaces. They are essential for achieving precise finishes and
removing imperfections.

Jigsaw ►A jigsaw is ideal for cutting intricate curves, shapes, and patterns in wood.
It’s a versatile and handheld power tool that allows for creative freedom in your
carpentry projects.
Carpenters Pencil ►These sturdy and flat-sided pencils are designed for marking and
layout work on wood. Their flat shape prevents them from rolling away and allows for
precise markings.

Utility Knife ► A utility knife is a handy tool for scoring, cutting, and trimming
materials. It’s perfect for tasks that require precision and control, such trimming
excess materials.

Wood clamps ►Woodworking clamps are essential for securing workpieces together
during assembly, gluing, or when working with joinery.

Hand Saw ►While power saws have their place, a reliable hand saw is a fundamental
tool for making precise cuts and crosscuts in wood. It’s versatile and easy to
maneuver, allowing for greater control.

Direction: List down all the essential tools that we discuss and write its use or purposes

Analysis
Guide Questions:
• What are the differences between the tools and equipment?

• An electrical wood cutter that fits to various cuts such as plywoods.

Abstraction
Activity 2. “GROUP KNOWLEDGE CHECK”
The students will form into 5 groups and ask each other what they’ve learned about the topic
each member has a 3 point and if all the group members are perfect to this session, they will be
given 15point equivalent of five 3 points.

Questions:

What tool is use to flat the nails into woods?

What tool is responsible for measuring?

The one who’s responsible to check the level of each sides, size and surfaces.
