Course Wrap Up
What is a Trailhead Playground and how does it differ from a Developer Edition Org?
Trailhead Playgrounds are orgs that you can use to complete hands-on challenges in Trailhead and try out new
features and customizations. It lets you explore Salesforce in a low-stakes environment, since Playgrounds are not
official Salesforce orgs used in companies.
A Developer Edition Org is an org that Salesforce provides for free to test new features and implementations in
Salesforce without affecting a production org.
A Trailhead Playground is like a DE org, but specifically for Trailhead as it comes with Trailhead-specific data and a pre-
installed package that is used to test hands-on challenges.
Sales Cloud, Salesforce's most popular product, is part of a CRM that allows companies to grow their businesses, boost
productivity, and make smart decisions backed by metrics.
Sales Could can help automatically prioritize and route leads, manage your pipeline from lead to close, automate
workflows, measure important metrics, and forecast opportunities.
Key Terms
Org: Org is short for organization. Orgs are versions of Salesforce that contain a given company's data and
configurations, and are the space(s) that companies work in when using Salesforce. The terms org, organization, and
environment are used interchangeably in Salesforce.
Trailhead Playgrounds: Playgrounds in Trailhead are orgs that you can use to complete hands-on challenges and try
out new features and customizations. A Trailhead Playground lets you explore Salesforce in a low-stakes environment.
Out-of-the-Box Salesforce: This is the default version of Salesforce; there are no customizations made by a Salesforce
administrator.
Sales Cloud: Sales Cloud is part of the CRM system that Salesforce offers. Sales Cloud is Salesforce's most popular
product.
Lightning Experience: Lightning is a more streamlined user experience in Salesforce compared to the older version,
Salesforce Classic. For your work in this course, you will use the Lightning Experience version of Salesforce's products.
