Banks: There are a lot of banks in Hungary you can choose from. They offer lots of
services.
You can:
 open an account
 transfer money
 withdraw money
 pay in money
 exchange money
 take out a loan/credit if you buy a house or car
I also have an account at …….. Bank. I have a bankcard, too. With a bankcard you can
pay in shops and restaurants and you don’t need cash. Your salary is transferred to
your bankcard.

Post office: At the post office there are a lot of services. You can:
1. pay in checks
2. send letters
3. send a parcel (csomag!)
4. buy envilopes, stamps, newspapers, magazines and lots of different small
items like: chocolates, toys or even books.
5. you can take out an insurance if you travel on holiday
Today less and less people go to the post office, because you can pay in your checks
online and send emails instead of letters. You can send and get parcels at pick-pack
points. I rarely go to the post office myself, but my grandmother/father/aunt/….
often goes.
