Vocational Scenario or Context:
You are working as a final year apprentice in a small engineering company. You have been
using some engineering processes to manufacture outside lanterns for decorative lighting
as part of your team; your manager is pleased with your work and has decided that you
should be given some more responsibility. He has now asked you to research and report
on the importance of quality assurance and quality control. The report will impact upon
company investment decisions in the future.
Task 1 (P5) Define the terms ‘quality control’ and ‘quality assurance’.
