Reges Oceanfront Resort Fights Against The

Governor’s Veto
WILDWOOD CREST, N.J., March 31, 2017 – Reges Oceanfront Resort in Wildwood Crest, N.J. has
recently declared that the company’s beaches will be smoke-free starting on June 1, 2017. The business
believes that a smoke-free beach will attract more families, improve public health, reduce waste, enhance
the hotel’s public appeal, and reach a targeted audience.

In 2016, The New Jersey Legislature passed a law that banned smoking on beaches, waterfronts, and
public parks. Later that year, Governor Chris Christie vetoed the piece of legislation. Standing strong in
the business’s beliefs, the beach at Reges Oceanfront Resort will be a designated smoke-free area. The
company hopes to use the Governor’s veto to change its reputation and gain media attention to popularize
its new policy.
