INTERROGATIVE PRONOUNS
1. WHO
- It is used to refer a person or people.
- It is used to specify which person did an action or which person is in a certain state.
Example:
Who is your mother?
Who is your friend?
2. WHOM
- It is used to refer a person too. It is usually used after the words with, to, by, and for.
- Is an object pronoun that is used to indicate the person who received an action.
Example:
For whom is this letter?
With whom should I go to the mall?
Whom is she talking too?
3. WHOSE
- Used to ask about ownership of a person or an animal.
- It is a possessive pronoun that is used to refer to which person or something belongs to.
Example:
Whose bicycle is Leila riding?
Whose book is that?
4. WHICH
- Used to show a choice among two or more items.
- It is used to refer to things, animals, and ideas. It is used to express choices.
Example:
Which country expressed their willingness to donate?
Which of the shoes do you like?
5. WHAT
- It is used when we refer to inanimate objects or ask for information.
- Used when asking for general information.
Example:
What is your favorite color?
What are you planning to do during weekends?
The simple present tense is used for actions which are done every day, often, always, sometimes and
regularly.
