(1) For the purposes ofthis Act “beverage” means carbonated soft drinks, eerandothermalt products; ‘beverage container” meansthe glass metal, aluminum, steel, ‘orplastichotle,or beer can, used for containing one gallon (or3.8lites)orlessatihe time ofsale of aheverageintended oruse or consumption in Belize: “dealer” meansevery person, frm corporation who engages inthe saleof beverages in beverage containerstoa.consumer ‘or oftpremises consumption in Belize; “isributor”meansany person, fim or corporation thatbotles orcans beverages or otherwise fills beverage containers or packages beverages or engagesin thesale of such containers toadealerand ineludes animporter of beverage containers “maltbeverape” meansany beverage obiinedy the alcoholic {fermentation or infusion or decoction of barley, malt, hops. brother wholesome grain o cereal and water and includes ale, stout and malt Liquor; “Minister, meansthe Miniter responsible forthe Environment “place ofbusiness” meansthe location at whichthedealerslls ‘oroffes forsale beveragesinbeverage conainerstoconsumers; “redeemer” means every person who demands the refund value provided forin this Actinexchange forthe empty beverage container, but shall not include a dealer; (0) Beverage containers soldordistributedaboatd aircraft andshipsshall be consideredasintendedforuseorconsumption outside Belize fe No. 2} Returnable Containers 3._(1)Adepositon beverage containers shall be collected byalldistributorsanddealersathe time of sleor distribution: Provided that no deposit shall be payable ifthe person, to whom the sale or distribution is made produces empty beverage containers ofthesame design, shape size, colour, brand and quantity as are being bought or received by him. (2) The deposit valueofaheverage container shall be + preseribed inthe Schedule to this Act. 4. (1) A dealer shall, on proof of purchase from him, accept a his place of business from a redeemer any empty beverage containers sold by that dealer to the redeemer (containing beverage), and shall pay totheredeemertherefund value ofeach such beverage container (2) Without prejudice to subsection (1) above, a
