TASK 1: “EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! WHAT WILL I DO?”

Direction: To become a first aider, one must know to respond to the different risky situations.
Now, test your skills in applying first aid by writing down your immediate action to the following
situation:

1. While trekking, your friend slipped  To help my friend, I assess the situation,
on a sloppy terrain and twisted his/her check for immediate danger, evaluate the

immobilize the ankle with a bandage or
splint, and seek medical attention. I’m
going to ensure that me and my friend are
in a safe position.

and water, apply a cold compress, use over-
the-counter treatments like creams or
ointments, monitor the camper, and seek
medical attention if necessary. If the
camper experiences difficulty breathing,
faintness, a rash, or a growing wound, it
may be an allergic reaction. Prevention is
the best approach, using insect repellent,
wearing long sleeves and pants, and
avoiding areas where insects are active.
3. Your brother was setting up the tent  clean his finger , rinse with clean water and
when cuts his finger with the pole. soap, stop bleeding with pressure, apply
antiseptic, cover with a sterile bandage,
and monitor for signs of infection, such as
redness, swelling, or pus, and seek medical
attention.
4. Your mother accidentally touches a  Immediately cool the affected area with
hot pan. cold water and apply a cold compress to
alleviate the pain and prevent further
damage.

5.Your friend experiences nosebleed.  Have your friend sit upright, lean forward
slightly, and pinch their nostrils together
for about 10 minutes to help stop the
nosebleed.
